How much longer will you care about whether your team has championship success if all it

really means is that your collective spent more then your competitors.
I didn't even watch the Final Four last season.
Outside of football I don't know if I really care much about the other sports and I guess the playoffs will make football more exciting.
Won't it be kind of a hollow feeling that Team A won the title that was bought and paid for?
Kentucky is expected to launch a NIL fund on Thursday with the purpose of making UK basketball the top NIL destination in college basketball. The legendary head coach in Calipari is expected to be included in the launch.

Are we really pretending this wasn’t happening before the NIL?

Have you been in a coma the last 50 years?

If this is true, let me know who’s collective spent the most this year so I can fill my bracket out accordingly.

This is objectively not true. You say you only care about football, OK fine. Do you think Washington, Michigan, or Bama spent more money than Texas? A&M had 5 losses and LSU had 3, do you think LSU spent more money than A&M?

I don't really see how you can remotely compare today's current environment to what was going on pre-NIL.
Yes, players were being paid before under the table, but they were not able to just transfer multiple times with no restrictions.

And that's why the Yankees and Dodgers win the world series every year, because money buys championships. When was the last time a team other than the Yankees or Dodgers won the WS? Has to have been decades ago, right?

I'm sure LSU fans cared about basketball when Will Wade was still there. Wonder what changed.

I would feel fine. It wouldn’t necessarily mean that cheating had occurred. There are really no rules now.
What it would mean to my program is that our fans and supporting businesses cared enough to donate money thru NIL to make our team successful.
Schools who have fans who don’t care enough and are not willing to contribute won’t do well. It’s nothing new. Successful schools usually enjoy generous fan support thru donations and other programs like GT who have little fan support don’t

Better. With a real playoff and equality in payment schemes, cheating is finally off the table. This is the first time a championship will mean something.

The teams that have been winning for at least the last 15 years have done so due to money and the head coach. It has nothing to do with a bunch of guys going to LSU to spill their guts for the Tigers (or whoever).
The problem for fans is they want the players to love the program like they do - but also want them to be ambitious world class athletes from anywhere on Earth.
If Alabama fans want love, sign Timmy Threestar from Tuscaloosa. If they want to win, sign Johnny Fivestar from Los Angeles.
Don’t sign the mercenary for the sake of winning and then expect him to love you.

Not sure. I've always enjoyed watching players develop over their years at Bama. Without that, I doubt I'll get as much enjoyment from the game.

Op -
If you don’t really care, delete your username and account.
Watch your team on game day and then go back to other interests after the final whistle.

Is this a trick question for A&M fans?

Just like recruiting before NIL you don't need to be #1. You just need to be amongst the top teams.
If that weren't the case, Bama would have won every championship the last 15 years. They won a lot of them, sure. But they didn't win all of them because simply having the best talent isn't always enough.
But you have to be close enough to be in the mix talent wise.
