Lots of chatter about Nate Oats in Lexington

The message boars fired up after Saturday night's disaster. Speculation is that Cal will leave after this season and Oats is the top target for his replacement. We'll have to see what developments over the next month and a half.

Given how he handled the Miller situation, thanks but no thanks. He’d get roasted in the fishbowl at Kentucky.
If Cal does leave (and that’s doubtful), Mitch will probably reach out to Scott Drew since they have an existing relationship first.

Lol, no. Stoops is stuck in as much of a rut as Cal. Can't win big games and doesn't recruit as well. UK's athletic program isn't going to be much to see until changes are made.

If BigBlueTitties wants Oats, so it shall be done.

Why would he leave Alabama for kentucky? It's not like you can offer him more money than Alabama can. They can match you dollar for dollar and then throw a million on top of it.

Alabama is sorta the perfect place for Nate Oats. I feel like his style of play would infuriate more passionate, large basketball fanbases. In Tuscaloosa, he can get away with losing a few games a year due to incredibly poor shooting from behind the arc when the layups and dunks aren't falling either. I think more clued in fanbases would be pissed that his teams go down in a game because he coaches teams to only shoot from behind the arc or attack the rim.

Why would he leave Alabama for kentucky?
Having top notch facilities is a given and not like pulling teeth
Don’t play second fiddle to football
One of a handful of dream college basketball destinations for a coach
Having said that, I don’t think Cal is going anywhere

I love it when messageboards create their own rumors and then report on those same rumors.

UK is one of a handful of blue blood MBB programs that just about any coach would jump to. It's not a knock on Alabama's program. It's just reality. There's no comparison between the two programs' facilities, support, prestige, etc.

Uh, no. Kentucky is the "gold standard" Cal has said it a million times!
