I think Bama will bump his pay and keep him. Oats loves the football program bc it's takes away some of the limelight. Billy Donovan turned UK down numerous times for same reason.

Oats will not be the man when Cal leaves…once again, it’s Scott Drew’s job.

You don’t know our AD. They way Oats handled the situation last year will never fly with Mitch and at UK. Lloyd of Zona would probably be next on the list.

ETA: Drew is waiting for the Kentucky job.

Given how he handled the Miller situation, thanks but no thanks

Standing by a player that went to the combine with reports of “0 character issues,” went #2 overall, and would be the best rookie in the NBA if not for Wemby

You hired a scumbag last time, and it hasn't been that great (by Kentucky basketball standards). I would hope yall don't go the scumbag route again.

The way Oats is, he may be in jail or on a show cause by the end of this season anyway.

If Oats is in jail it's bc he's doing work for the lord.

Byrne is a disciple of Mitch and he stood by Oats.

Being bad at interviews does not equal handling poorly. He objectively made the right call

If yall want a great PR guy with a fluffy personality, I hear Avery Johnson is trying to get back into coaching

He removed all the players arrested for murder from the team. I don't know what y'all want but it is detached from any reality your school would follow in the same situation.

So let me get this straight. Coach Oates went from a no coaching bottom of the barrel turd to Kentucky’s first hope. Interesting

He inherited no less than Kira Lewis, John Petty, Shackleford and Herb Jones.

Mustve been rough.

“Oats can’t build his own roster” is certainly a take

And the NBA rumors are going to pick up significantly given his style of play (and already somewhat have).
Makes sense because his style would translate perfectly, but man it'd be an uphill battle trying to build his program culture at an NBA franchise.

Hard to imagine a coach tossing a hard hat after the game to some dude making $40m a year.
