Is this where you pretend Alabama doesn’t have to pay as much for players because they are Alabama? Alabama and Georgia are more “efficient” because they have more depth and don’t need to use it

It depends on what you mean. In terms of the amount of money spent, I think it isTexas A&M or Miami. If it’s about efficiency, probably UGA or Bama.
A combination of both. Whatever Alabama and Georgia are doing, they are getting a great return on their investments.

I'm curious how Florida, LSU, and Ole Miss will perform in the NIL era.

No, I mean they actually win something with the players they buy, not go 8-4.

Mississippi may be a poor state in comparison to others; but that doesn't mean that it doesn't have wealthy alums who can contribute to NIL. In the case of Ole Miss, it has the law and medical school. Lawyers and doctors pretty much occupy the highest income levels.

He’s a state fan. He’s just jealous. If their collective was capable of doing what we’ve done he’d be singing a different tune.

The way Bama lost DBs and haven't had a stud DL since Barmore it's obvious they don't have the money. Bama wasn't involved with Walter Nolen. One of the few Michigan players to portal out is a 6-4 sophomore DB Amorion Walker who is from Louisiana that's going to Ole Miss and Bama's best returning DB is going to Ole Miss (also from Louisiana) tells you all you need to know regarding money.

A lot of what I feel about Bama not pulling certain guys because of NIL I think is true of LSU too.

If we define "best at NIL" by using available monies to get wanted players, I would say the Ole Miss and Missouri do fine jobs, probably near the top.
But if it is just who hands out the most, I guess look at the recruiting rankings.
Who loses the most players to the portal is probably a good indicator of poorly managed NIL.

The things people on this board say about Kiffin is mind-blowing. I can't do anything else with this comment.

The professional sports kind of show you that spending the most money doesn't guarantee success. What it does guarantee is pissed off big money donors with a football coach if no success. Could be nighty night for Day.

They just focus on Transfer kids. Especially OM. Instead of coaching up HS players they simply buy players other coaches have ready and use them.

Not a knock on them. That will be more of the way of the future with kids hopping every year and most freshman not being ready or thinking they are worth the most and are good enough to play day 1 or they will leave.

Portal are reject players

Players that reject their current situation? Guys leave over a ton of reasons. Many developed later and are moving to bigger schools, many are looking for better NIL deals, a lot leave because of coaching or schematic changes, some leave for a change of scenery, etc. The blanket statement that guys leave because they are rejects might have worked 5 years ago but today it’s just limited thinking.

I hope not too. I've heard glowing reports about him so far and how he interacts with his teammates. But that could be fool's gold.

The staff has talked about recommitting to the running game.

He's one thing and "Momma T" is a whole lot more.

Probably the school that didn't win a championship for 40 years and has won 2 since NIL became a thing. But they will tell you their NIL isn't even good, they don't give out big deals, players just come there because they love Georgia, etc etc

Pretty stupid. Portal players in many cases are much better recruits than unknown HS players. Proven stats, etc.

Kinda idiodic attitude but go with it and dont take advantage of the portal.....see how your team looks in 2-3 years.

I wouldn't say in many cases. There are some really big time players at the top of the pile, but its a thousand feet of crap after them.

It started in July 2021. The goal, one would assume, is to win games and national titles. That being the case it would be UGA, Alabama, LSU and Texas (next July?). Those 4 have won more and won more games of substance since it became a thing. Given that the only thing that has changed is the amounts changing hand because no one can use the excuse of "we can't hide that much money" it makes sense that the teams that were successful in the days of bagmen will continue to be successful going forward. Tennessee and Missouri are apparently very good at it considering the turn around at both programs. Ole Miss is in that same group. ATM and Florida must be horrible at it.
