Didn’t sark HC while Saban was out? That would be three

If I said Saban would retire under these conditions most people would be ecstatic:

Coming off an SEC Championship and playoff appearance

Retires within a week with no health issues for him or Mrs Terry

New Coach is hired within 48 hours that…
Is in his 40s
Is coming off a national title appearance
Has won at every level

It was stressful for a while, but hot damn this is as good as you would have expected it go to once Saban determined he was done.

Really think TRob is the move here for continuity, recruiting, and holding the roster together at key positions

If DeBoer's deal with Alabama is finalized, Huskies appear ready.

Will Rogers had Leach as HC then he died.

He transfers to UW and then DeBoer could leave. Someone want to check on him. He going to have abandonment issues.

Damn I didn't know this and I kind of feel bad for laughing.

What's kind of interesting about DeBoer is that he has a record of 17-2 in the NAIA playoffs, so he's already got experience with a playoff system for football

Agree with this. I think this is a great scenario and I'm really excited about it moving forward.

So more importantly how will Alexis DeBoer improve or WCWS chances?

I feel like this is a slam dunk hire but I will not believe it until he's touching down at Tuscaloosa Regional tonight or tomorrow. I remember the Rich Rodriguez saga all too well.

That was a done deal until it wasn't.

This seems to be Byrne's MO at this point. DeBoer's history is kinda a lot like Oats', but he was just one step above where Oats was on the coaching ladder.

lol more than a step. Oats was at a mid major. DeBoer just coached in the national championship game

How he retains the current team, and who he hires for assistants will be telling. That's step 1.

Then recruiting and 2024 season prep.

So this makes sense. Nick wanted DeBoers OC, but he wouldn't come. So when Nick retires - he wanted DeBoer.

So there was a plan

I mean, we might have a replacement for the GOAT in less than 2 days. Byrne has no doubt kept a list of choices. He knew Kirby wasn't coming back. One reason it's seemed stressful or chaotic is because phones and social media have ruined your dopamine production.
