Why in the hell with years of this being a possibility wouldn't there be a quick succession agreement
Saban has been retired less than 48 hours. Some of yall need to chill the frick out. Byrne is the best in the business. I'll be shocked if he doesn't hire the best available. Any coach worth his salt isn't gonna back up from following the GOAT.

Jimmy's fat arse is the only winner

Sexton is the kingpin in all of this, but doubt we'd wait 48 hours for him and risk players leaving. I'm sure Sexton would drag it out as long as possible, but Byrne is going to protect Bama first.

What’s the fun in that?

I always thought Schumann was an option before Saban retired but the only a coordinator thing always got that rejected .

Byrne. Sorry I added one extra letter, forgive me….

The secr is a fricking trash nightmare, and has been for years. Theyve letting trolls ruin what used to be a fun board. Still love plenty of other pages on tigerdroppings, but secrant, which used to be the flagship for me, is garbage.
I feel like this site as a whole has become filled with immature trolls everywhere. Or maybe it’s just the posters getting older and more bored
But yes the SecR is absolute garbage. Just constant trolling. Little actual discussion. And it’s not just the LSU fans. Plenty of shitty Bama posters too

The wild thing about Sexton is he was in our own football building yesterday and made sure the cameras caught him walking in. Can’t imagine letting him post up in a conference room while using us as leverage for clients to get raises.

God I'm glad fans like you have zero say in this hire.
Idiocy is thinking an early 30s co/DC is a better candidate than experienced head coaches that have long track records of winning wherever they have been. Ask anyone who knows anything about coaching and they will tell you the same thing

Haven’t seen his name really mentioned anywhere (which could be an indicator in itself) but what’s everyone’s thoughts on Brian Daboll

Watching The Next Round on Youtube. Tom Luginbill is a fricking Nerd. Dude, has a huge Superman fathead on his wall, Star Wars stuff everywhere, etc.

I guarantee Greg Byrne made contact with the person he wanted on the same day Nick Saban retired lol.
Byrne is probably doing his due diligence on him and his family. Btw he usually don't offer anybody until all that is done.
He's very secretive as well so I can't wait to see what he has cooked.

Did you think Glenn would leave UGA and a young HC to come work for a HC in his 70's?
That guy would have to be 'to full of Alabama" to do that.

Ruin what exactly?
If it got leaked weeks / months / a year before Saban actually retired...it would ruin all kinds of stuff. How do you think recruiting would go.. just one example.
I don't think you understand how real life works. And more specifically, I don't think you understand how the HC hiring process works (or agents)...

You may be correct, but im assuming the bridges burned were with the men who paid the bills.
If you're a rich dude who married a trophy wife decades younger, you should probably expect they're gonna look for some younger dick. She was probably also banging the pool boy and her tennis instructor.
As they say, never turn a ho into a housewife.

Evidently Lew quit and it seems like he did a pretty good job of taking out the trash. But since he left, I have to agree. Always liked the game threads there ...

Luginbill makes a good point.
Whoever is not on the fan's perceived list of top hire is going to STRUGGLE.
Following the GOAT, Fanbase believes this person would be a 3-6 choice. Yikes.
