I mean we have seen it before. We even saw a team captain QB sit out after the 4th game to maintain his redshirt so that he can play with a better team.
Should they? NO.
Is that where we are headed? Yes.

FSU snubbed the postseason after their snub. Fair enough. UGA said Frick it, we legitimately lost but let's not embarass ourselves with a second loss on the year.
One team had nothing to play for and the other had everything to lose.
One team had nothing to play for and the other had everything to lose.

That is irrelevant to me. Does anybody actually care? or even know why they are on the sidelines? Are they on the sidelines to maintain NIL stipulations?

Both teams had similar things to play for, pride.
Both teams also had a lot to lose, respect

Nobody lost respect for that FSU team. As a matter of fact, they could have boycotted that game altogether, and I would be fine if they declared themselves champions. It is no more illegitimate than half of Alabama's.

They both had the opportunity to show why they belonged in the playoffs. It was a one sided arse stomping and uga was swinging the hammer. I don't think fsu could have done much about it fully staffed.

I do not agree with this..fsu players as a team should have cared enough to give it all to beat that uga team, to prove to the world they were the best…for whatever reason they didn’t.

Many lost respect for the program, especially the players who quit on the team.
I respect the ones who played.

Disagree, this isn’t about culture but about getting fricked about as hard as a player could get fricked in life. Regardless of your culture, if you went undefeated, won your championship game in what is supposed to be a major conference, beat 2 teams in the most difficult conference and then told you don’t even get a chance because your QB got hurt… even though Alabama won the damn thing just a couple years ago with a backup QB? Ya, as a player I would be like frick all that bullshite too and not give a frick about the bowl game. I think it’s a testament to their coach that he was even able to get some players on to the field, I sure as frick would not have played.
I think you only underscore that it’s very much about culture. shite doesn’t always (or even often) go one’s way. The general willingness to say “frick it” and go home with your ball is fairly troubling. FSU actually still had quite a bit to play for. Had they managed to put together a game and beat UGA, I think they had a legitimate platform to make an argument that they deserved the AP, for example, to name them National Champs. Thats not nothing. Instead, they played the victim, screamed, “we got screwed”, then proceeded to quit, only validating the committee’s decision to leave them out. But that’s where we are as a society, so life imitates art, yada, yada…

On the sideline, on the couch, in a car getting road head, they all had the same impact on the game. Are you saying those players weren't being selfish or something?

Don’t understand this mindset at all. 100% beta move. One thing to opt of if you’re going pro. Crappy for fans but I get it.
But not taking every opportunity to ball out against elite competition and raise your draft stock makes zero sense.
Even if you’re pouting about being left out, each player should want to showcase their talent. 100% beta move.

2004
You must be joking. Were the kids who didn’t play in the bowl game for FSU even alive in 2004?
Times change. Attitudes change, and things that once brought harsh criticism now come with a pass and an atta boy.
I agree with your thoughts on this but trying to compare todays players with those from 2004 isn’t the way to go.
Exactly this. Situations like this always remind me of Brandon Taylor's post game rant after Auburn came into Tiger Stadium in 2020 and ran up and down the field on LSU's defense. Players today are soft and spoiled. They're not hungry. There's no comparison to the guys that played just 10-15 years ago. It's worth a listen whether you love or hate LSU.
5:55 mark

FSU wont recover from last night- it will set their program back years in perception.

I'm pretty sure this already happened with Joey Bosa and maybe even Nick Bosa too.

100% and the FSU attitude is unfortunately prevailing throughout society as a whole.

Yeah. Playing against UGA would have opened an opportunity for many players better than a senior bowl (full of betas).
A huge film opportunity was lost.
