Call it an invitational then. Put on a dog and pony show and stop the charade about wins matter.

Dont make me go full Mike Leach on that committee of nobodies, Chad.

Ladies and gentlemen, here is The culture of quitting. Players should want to play. Players should want to finish.

So why didn't Auburn quit in 2004
You don’t think college football has changed in the last 20 years? If there was a 4 team playoff in 2004 Auburn would’ve been in it.

Those fsu players knew they weren't winning shite with their backup QBs. You can blame it on the portal mercenary thing but that team deep down knew what the committee knew when they left fsu out...

The situations were similar, but the same thing didn’t happen to uga/

It isnt the culture of quitting. It is the culture of ME.

Players, hell, people are self-interested
Is it more appealing to someone like a Georgia player to hang around, knowing they will probably be in the playoffs next year. FSU may have a great team next year but that is less certain, so those players are cashing in now.

Georgia players are not saints by hanging around the program. They are merely incentivized to be there.

Does that matter to 20 year old FSU kids? They still

1) deserved to be there based on their 13 game season.

2) would have put up more of a fight than TCU last season

3)Lost the opportunity to say they made the playoff.

Jang just mad about those Bams getting in. FSU didnt belong and last night proved it. UGA beat that azz with several opt outs and the best player in the nation (Bowers) not playing. They were playing 3rd stringers the whole second half and still whooped that azz.

Also this..
The Barn just earned its THIRD straight losing season in a ROW. Their season consisted of two moral victories against UGA and Bama and "earned" a bowl bid due to beating FCS Samford only to get whipped by freaking basketball school Maryland with its backup QB LOL. Freeze is a joke, jang is mad.

when you think about it, Michigan is the team that really got screwed by leaving out FSU. They had a cake walk to the final against a Washington team they can beat. Now they are looking at a two touchdown beatdown.

Its a reflection on the head coach and the culture he brings to the team.
FSU’s prima donna culture predates Norvell. Absolutely fair to fault him for letting it get out of control, but it didn’t start with him. FSU has been drinking their own kool aid since the ‘99 season, at least.

The only thing in life we can control are ourselves and our own actions..which incidentally is how we are measured as individuals. As a former athlete I can’t imagine giving up on my team for”any” reason, it just wouldn’t happen. I’d never be able to look my father, coach, or myself in the face. We live in a prideless society that is more concerned with selfish needs and perception than principles. Tifwiw jmho

Those selfish players went undefeated. Bama could not.

Alabama doesn’t play in a basketball and lacrosse conference and somehow managed to schedule a tougher early OOC opponent than LSU to boot.

Should players opt out mid-season when it's clear their team sucks?

Should they opt out with 3 games left when they've been eliminated from conference championship contention?
