Umm..7 points lost by a rb fumble and 4 pts lost due to a line judge getting vagina in his sand..wtf are you talking about? Does Stockton need to block his own pass?

Notre dame can’t be beat!!!!’

I disagree…if there was 1 team that benefited from the long break it was uga…we were wounded all season…this version of the uga team will be better running the ball and extending plays.this team is extremely battle tested ..we shall see
And to add..Beck was anything but good this year…I can’t count how many times we had to beat the opponent and Carson’s bad play. He may throw an nfl pass but our receivers do not have nfl catching abilities. Stockton will be fine..

I feel like you guys are the team to beat and you guys will beat Texas but Texas will test you guys as the talent on the lines will be more comparable than what Oregon showed us. It will be a good game.
re: Unpopular opinion - ND will beat UGA

This is about health…uga was beat up all season. The team was the walking dead with injuries playing a freshman rb with basically no back up. We won in spite of Becks bad play for most of the season. They have 3 healthy backs now including rb number 1 and healthy lines on both side of the ball. Unless Stockton gives other teams points this will be a better version of Uga team that is much better battle tested and will grind hard to get yards and eat clock ..could be wrong but Jmho…

I don’t think they will blow everyone out but they definitely look like the best team money can buy in the cfp at the moment.

re: Why does Georgia act like Stockton is the answer?

This conversation drives me crazy..It’s important to note that uga had a wounded rotating o-line and was missing a couple of key players that we will have now have back on defense for a significant time during the season.
Also of importance is that uga was playing the last half of the season with 1 single rb that was a freshmen…we did get rb1 back for the seccg but he wasn’t 100 percent…uga will have at least 3 fully healthy rbs back for playoffs Etn, Frazier, jones, and Rod Robinson with a dual threat qb that knows the system and we can run a lot of RPO designed for him… Beck was not good this year, a turnover machine…we often won in spite of his play.
Uga has the ability now to control time of possession when we can run the ball consistently and play good defense…it’s not a far stretch to think that we may be better on offense and equally better on defense as opposed to this passing team we attempted to be ( we lost our top 2 receivers before the season started) who repeatedly went 3 and out…if the oline holds we can wear out opponents with depth and bludgeon them in the 4th with fresh legs..which is Kirby ball.
To be honest ..I was amazed we lost as few games as we did this year and I never saw us winning the champ game with Beck and the health of our team. A healthy uga team can win with bully ball and a run game with a far less talented qb than Stockton at qb. Just mho…

Bama-Noo!
My apologies if this has already been posted I thought it was funny. And for the record I have no opinion on bama and the play offs.

re: How depressing will it be if Texas plays Georgia again and Texas wins
Posted by redandblackattack on 12/9/24 at 12:45 pm
We could definitely lose..but I’m also guessing there is a good chance lol some people are going to be sorely surprised by a healthy uga team on the lines.. with most of our rbs back and 5 star with multiple years in the system who can run and pass and has almost 4 weeks to work on a game plan with the 1s. Beck is an nfl arm talent but has done us few favors this year with 70 quadrillion interceptions. Stockton brought us back from the dead in the seccg..uga about to be a ball hog and eat clock..he doesn’t have to pass down field all night …just keep the defense and line backers honest…guess we will see :)
re: Is This Targeting?

I saw Dan hit him in the upper chest and also hit the ball..as he was falling back in one angle “after” impact Jackson lifts his head and clips the edge of kings face mask. The angle from behind shows kings helmet bobble because he got rocked. King when interviewed said it was a clean hit on the ball and was not targeting. I have scoured the internet looking for evidence that apparently even the refs couldn’t find. If you have it please show it..would love to see it.

We are close in agreement Johnny but not completely. I would prefer to retain college football as an Amateur sport with student athletes. The athletes nil is a private matter. Maybe their can be some form of department dedicated to helping with the NIL?If not, form a semi pro league that feeds in to the nfl.
You seem to indicate you believe we are beyond that point and we will have to include the university in some way with NIL You are probably correct in thinking so. I don’t see this money machine changing course, look at what coaches make per year ..wow
I prefer a non pro structure in which athletes go to schools they love and can develop and coach them and they in turn have pride to do so. Maybe i am right but im I’m obviously longing for the past.
Oh well , it’s a very engaging conversation and will be interesting to see how it all pans out.

. There actually isn’t a consensus on how many players died in 1905 but most of those confirmed were due to internal injuries(no padding) or broken neck or back…on the day you speak of one of the 3 was a head to head hit causing a cerebral hemorrhage, the other a rib punctured a heart and the other was body slammed to the ground essentially breaking his neck. To be clear 1905 football had no forward pass, no neutral zone, use of the flying wedge which has been banned, drop kicks were allowed 5 yard first downs with no incentive to run outside the tackle. The game was brutal and doesn’t resemble the game today.
Obviously a better way of sustaining neck and head movement on impact is not a bad thing and is desirable . Maybe in my initial post didn’t make myself clear. I was just referring to blatant targeting..as in I’m not willing to crash my bare head in to his by choice :)Helmets do help but not so much with concussions. On average 5 or 6 concussions are reported per team per season in college football. Interesting is that based on a study findings by the medical society for sports medicine suggest that offensive linemen, a position group that experiences frequent, but low-magnitude, head impacts, develop more post impact symptoms than other playing positions, but do not report these symptoms as a concussion.

Yes, if i understand correctly..in your scenario, the university(team) will be paying the players and will be placing them under contract. I think it’s clever and a “compromise” that is much better than what we currently have.
I still do not think a salary or any form of nil should be paid by the university to obtain/retain the student athlete. Why can they not get the benefits of the institution while exploring outside nil options. Athletes should be paid proportionately by how good they are via endorsements, arrangements, and private contracts they garner via other private entities. The market and their performance will determine their pay. . Popeyes, Coca Cola, Nike, ea sports etc this is a more proper use of NIL but that’s just my take, I don’t want the institution involved.
