As a Gator fan, ufmatt welcomes the sememnoles to the SEC.
Let's see how they do against the big boys.

Culturally, FSU and Clemson are good fits for the SEC. Would hate to see them in the B1G. I still like my conference to have a regional flavor to it. We have 2 schools that are marginal fits. UT and Mizzou. I think Oklahoma will fit in well with the SEC

You mean the big 28.

The big 12 is becoming a dumping ground for all the leftovers.

If this does take place and the dominos fall, the ACC will collapse and we will have super conferences by 2026.

College football and conferences are done as we know them. Might as well go to regional play and take the four best from each region and play a 16 team playoff. The winning team to receive $10 Million for future NIL deals or better yet, give money to teams that don't make the playoff to balance the regions. The goal is to make every team 6-6.

How is Oklahoma a cultural fit but Mizzou is marginal? They were both Big Eight schools from the dawn of time. Missouri as a state has a lot more in common with the SEC than Oklahoma does. Y'all just make shite up.

Super conferences arrived. It's been a slow and steady march since the early 90s. This is just the final blow to the last non-SEC/B1G conference that still has a couple blue blood programs.

I know this is weird for a UF fan to say, but I don't really care. The only thing FSU being in the SEC would hurt us for is recruiting. We couldn't bang our chests about being the only SEC team anymore.

We already play them every year and will continue to do that, so there is very little impact on our schedule. If we lost the UGA game, I would be pissed, but that's it.

NCAA football is not what I remember from when I was younger and isn't the sport I fell in love with. It would be weird but it's already weird being NFL light with paying players and free agency/.the portal. It's weird having Texas and Oklahoma just like it's weird that we added A&M and Missouri when we did. But I will still follow it because I love the Gators.

Don’t think schools would vote them in especially after this season with how hard the schedules will be .

Tell em to pound sand. They would’ve been a good add years ago. They sat on their hands too long.

Good luck recruiting other ACC schools to go independent

Much work remains to be done before Florida State announces its failure to make progress.

So because an old guy that's dead once realized not joining the SEC in the old system was a good move for him to win championships, we should deny that they'd make a better/more competitive addition than around half of the current members we have?

Like I said, people that don't want them are either scared of them, or can't get past a personal dislike for them to admit that it would be good for the conference

I still don't understand why any school would sign anything that locks them in for 15 years when they see how quickly the landscape is changing. What a truly stupid move.

I'd be fine if they joined the SEC though because they fit geographically and I don't care to see the big whatever get more claws into the southeast.

Sir, I have lived in Missouri and my extended family is from there. I was referring to culture as a whole ( food, religious practices, ethnicity, dialect, etc.) and not just Athletic culture. The southeastern part of the state is somewhat southern in its culture. The Northern parts of the state, not so much. Meanwhile, Oklahoma is somewhat more "Southern" in its culture. In fact it is now considered a Southern state by the US Census Bureau. Certainly it is not as quintessentially southern as AL,GA,MS,TN etc., but it is more Southern than Missouri. As you can see I didn't just make this up[

As an LSU fan, anything that leads to a quicker dissolution of the SEC is fine by me. frick it. Let’s move this thing to an NFL model.

I’m sure I’m in the minority here, but I say yes.

We are quickly headed to an SEC vs BIG10 super league and we want the bigger programs for when that day comes.

If the BIG 10 gets to 24 by adding FSU, Clemson, UNC, VA Tech, GA Tech, and Notre Dame, and then the day comes that the SEC needs to match the number and get to 24 ourselves, we’re going to be wishing we had taken the better teams when they were available.

We don't need them nor should we want them.

The only two schools we should be going after to join the SEC are Notre Dame and North Carolina.

One brings in a national demographic and the other is a blue blood basketball program that will open an additional market.

Did you see fsu Nielson ratings. The played in 12 NR games. They were top 10 in ratings. If you understand how tv ratings work you add fsu immediately. Thier numbers would be top 5 in sec. And even larger in the big ten
