I don't remember that. I do remember him saying we lack talent.........."for whatever reason".

I remember. Until we get a Qb that can play with ice in his veins, we will struggle on offense

I remember the statement. But I don’t think he was saying we were gonna win every game. The offense is a mess. We as fans gotta stop piling on one or 2 players for an entire side of a team being all out of sorts. QBs look terrible. OL is soft. WRs can’t catch or run correct routes. Our running backs fumble the ball all over the field.

While we have no QB, we are still void at WR and our OLine still has to get on the same page. Thorne doesn't even have time to make a bad decision more times than not. He was pancaked before he even looked up alot. yesterday. Plus I think Thorne felt so good about his running from last week that he thought he was eventually going to get running and never could.

QB - looks terrible... I went into more detail in another thread
OL - We averaged over 6 ypc by RBs. Pass pro wasn't great, but it was good enough to win in the first half at least. We struggled in pass blocking when they brought 6 but you have to be able to get the ball out quickly when the defense brings 6. There were plenty of plays where Thorne had time to throw and missed throws or didn't see the open guys and just took a sack.
WR - I don't know how good or bad they are because even balls that are "catchable" aren't "good". They were open A LOT against A&M. At least in the first half.
RB - Our best group. Ran well - lots of YAC. Good reads I thought generally. Caught the ball well out of the backfield. Over 6 YPC. 0 fumbles against A&M. Would like to see them attack in pass pro a bit more but they weren't terrible

True, but Gus let recruiting slip in general his last few years. To be fair, there was no NIL then, so maybe he would have done better with the new rules.

What’s he gonna say? Hey Auburn fans, we can’t win with these QBs, they are subpar and it will be a struggle all year.

we can blame the QBs a lot but the play calling is shite. A good OC can score at least one TD with anyone. What are they doing in practice? The game plan was meh

There were several play calls that could have led to TD’s. They were overthrown. OC can’t execute plays on the field of play.
