I remember the statement. But I don’t think he was saying we were gonna win every game.

They can't even get a TD, much less than win a game..

I still can't understand how an experienced QB could just freeze up like that. Early on, the plays were definitely there but Thorne looked shell shocked. Ashford is still Ashford.

I hope yall are talking about when the DB blitzed from the left side of the field and Thorne not only froze while seeing the blitzer the whole time, he actually kinda buckled into the DB.

That is not a talent issue. That is an instincts issue. He can do cone work all day- simulating how to step up into the pocket or whatever, but that work isnt translating into active quick football instincts.

OL has looked pretty good to me. Run blocking especially. If nothing else, they are way down the list of things to fix. QB is #1 and outside receivers is #2.

Unfortunately, most of the OL are seniors and wont be here next year. OL is still a position of need for this roster

That is exactly what I am talking about. I get that from someone never used to the big stage (Thorne does not have that excuse); he should not be that mentally unprepared.

Going to be hard to beat 4 and 5 star talent while the offensive line is being pushed around on the field.

If we keep him clean and keep him in a rhythm he doesnt have to buckle. We have to keep him front running.

At least now we understand who he is.

Absolutely, and he is the one that spends all his time following the coaches around so he can be prepared. Jang is right, Thorne's instinct is to go fetal position.

After the Texas A&M loss, Auburn has the worst passing offense in the SEC and the second-worst total offense in the conference, per NCAA stats. Thus far, Auburn’s passing offense has produced 693 passing yards combined from the quarterback trio. Nearly 300 of those yards came from Thorne in one game against Samford.

Freeze criticized Thorne after Cal- that was more on Thorne as he missed wide open receivers a lot.
He was critical of Thorne after A&M as well. I do like that Freeze is staying on Thorne but he has to.

According to Al.com every member of the OL was penalized last game while allowing seven sacks and 15 TFL.

Our OL is the most penalized in the SEC I believe.

Freeze knows we don't have a QB, and Thorne was not his first choice, but hoped he would be more serviceable than he has been and create competition.

The opportunities were there, but he either overthrew or held onto the ball too long, and then also the line broke down on pass plays. Thorne also struggles with decision making and misses the correct throw, a lot.

The O-line seems to have done pretty good in the first quarter, but after that they got pushed around and taken to the woodshed.

We have a lot of 4 star talent all over the field as well. I also saw on a few of Thornes sacks that he only took a one step drop when a three step drop would have given him the time to throw it. Thorne just doesnt have the courage we need from the Qb position

May wanna change that statement.

Well, we can, depending on who we are playing.

What do you think would be more effective, building up the confidence of his QBs, or tearing it down?

Right of the top 7 of those were sacks... most of which were avoidable by the QB throwing the ball away (or to the open receivers), then at least a couple were pressure straight off the edge where Oline isn't part of the play. I also don't know if screens tackled behind the LOS are considered TFLs, but we had at least one of those (and another called back as an incomplete).

RBs averaged over 6ypc... a pretty darn good number considering we had 0 passing attack.

Agreed... heck, Harsin really didn't need to do much. If he could have just left Kobe Hudson and Bo this team might be in business right now... not winning the SEC level or anything like that but we have a very good shot at beating A&M and are competitive in most games.

That's only what Sportscenter wants you to think.

Deion's boys are constantly recording videos. They recorded videos saying Oregon was small. That they were going to whip Oregon's arse. At Oregon, they recorded stomping on the O and a player saying there would be a duck killing.

So why is the media so fixated on Lanning saying they are playing for clicks? They clearly are. Its almost like the media wants people to think Lanning is racist.
