Yawn. Get back to us when you beat an SEC. Go back to your Big12 board for the time being. Nobody is impressed with a 10 point twin over a bottom tier Big10 team. Plus Lance will be gone after this season, then you guys will be back to a 1 win team.

Give it a fricking rest! It's not NIL, it's not the portal. It has more to do with losing Cochran than anything. Cochran was the soul of the program. He made the teams tough and intimidating. When he left, that slowly went away. They aren't tough, they aren't intimidating, no one is afraid to line up across from them. That's why Bama doesn't look the same. Plus Saban is just not as fiery as he used to be and maybe that's due to Cochran's absence as well

So it had nothing to do with Saban, it was all Cochran, right? But that logic, you could put Coach O in there and so long as you have Cochran you’re still winning.

Or, maybe the answer is that Saban has lost his edge as a coach.

here's why i think he will leave soon - they will be out of the running this year and they will look worse than they have in a long time. while most Alabama fans appreciate Nick and realize that this is normal, that you just can't be on top every year, there is a loud, vociferous small crowd that will be hollering for his head and insulting him endlessly. He's too old and successful to put up with that crap. Plus, he doesn't like what's happened to the game.

it's just time.

This would be assuming that Alabama can’t compete in the NIL market and that’s a poor assumption!

This argument doesn't make sense when you look at the recruiting rankings and see that Bama is still pulling the same talent they were a decade ago.

They are well behind where they typically are in this recruiting class. The full effects of NIL are in play.

Alabama will not land another #1 recruiting class under Saban. Coaches will start negative recruiting against him and it’ll get worse with each passing year.

He is entering Paterno/Bowden territory. His current team is loaded with talent but when they are gone in 2-3 years Alabama will lose start losing 3-4 games a year with all of the newfound parity.

He’s running out of good assistants that are willing to coach for him.

Holy hell the trolls are out since Sat night.

Bama lost an early season game with a new qb. It must be end of days by reading posts lately lol.

Anyone writing off Bama is being foolish.

Here’s something to ponder. Is Tx or Bama better positioned to have a better year? Who has the better chances of doing better the rest of the year.

Bama will be just fine as long as Saban is around. Too many fans “want” them to decline and after 1 loss are jumping on that wagon.

Way too early to write them off.

His days are numbered for the same reason all of ours are.

Time takes its toll.

10-15 years ago, I have no doubt Saban could have mastered this new era. Now, I have doubts.

You mean because he’s mortal ands, like all mortal creatures, is not destined to live forever?

Congratulations at figuring that out I guess…?

Hence the clueless on the rant. They fail to understand Alabama is still pulling in the same level of talent.

He's the best ever unfortunately.

I hate Alabama as much as anyone but at the end of the day all that matters is wins and losses. The rest are just details.

Arkansas fans probably wouldn't know because you fired your only good coach in forever over a silly personal affair.

What if Saban is still Saban and not really slipping, but all his advantages have been taken away?

He's lost several really good assistant coaches which is normal for successful programs, but now NIL and the transfer portal will not allow him to build depth and keep it.

If all of the above is what has taken Saban down and caused him to slip a little, then really no coach has a shot to have a long term awesome run again in the NIL/ transfer portal era..

I think I've heard this very exact statement since 2007. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Kids will still look at the coach with the best chance to get them to the NFL. If they just look at the number of players playing in the NFL from Bama (Saban) that is a good enough reason for any kid looking to make it.
