Yes you are correct on dexron. Mobile one synthetic is what we used to stop the shudder and it worked on about 90% of the trucks we used it on.

You aren't buying a new transmission either way. A GM dealership would be selling you a GM reman or something similar like a Jasper reman.

Don't do shudder fix additive for torque shudder in GM transmission, have them replace the filter and go with synthetic transmission fluid instead of dextron IV. That's the problem is the regular transmission fluid gets too hot and degrades, the synthetic doesn't.

i talked to a guy the other day that is doing these fixes on fedex vans, said it's happening all the time with their drivers. Said he gets right at 30k for the job, said you have to replace all the fuel lines, fuel pumps and fuel injectors as well.
