With the NIL, parity has arrived in college football. Gone are the days or Saban landing a top 5 recruit only for the recruits “uncle” to win a prize drawing for an 80 thousand dollar car a few weeks later.

It’s become clear he is not the greatest of all time. Just the most clever cheater. You can expect more of this going forward.

This argument doesn't make sense when you look at the recruiting rankings and see that Bama is still pulling the same talent they were a decade ago.

The number is 10. Coach Saban will leave when he has won 10 NC

This is not true. You’re throwing shite around with no proof Bama’s 2024 recruiting class is ranked #10, yet they’ve averaged top 5 for close to 20 years. Look up facts before posting.

Bama recruiting is not going away
The issue is that Bama can't stockpile classes as players want to play and not have to wait 2/3 years to see the field when they can transfer and play immediately plus a NIL deal
That's the big difference

Look at Bama's depth chart, it's not the same as it used to be.

The recent issue is they've missed on some players. Milroe has not come close to being a top QB and they lost out on Drake Maye in the same class. Which one would you rather have on the team right now? They also missed in the portal as Hartman and Van Dyke were options.

Bama has owned out of state recruiting as well, now you have Riley at USC keeping players home, Texas and Aggies have done a better job of keeping players in Texas, he hasn't gotten a ton from LA recently, Georgia is dominating in state, some of the Fla talent is not as accessible to Bama, and Tenn is making inroads.

All of that will hurt Bama as they always go out of state for top prospects plus you have to share the state with Auburn.

Saban is not winning ten natties!

Give it a fricking rest! It's not NIL, it's not the portal. It has more to do with losing Cochran than anything. Cochran was the soul of the program. He made the teams tough and intimidating. When he left, that slowly went away. They aren't tough, they aren't intimidating, no one is afraid to line up across from them. That's why Bama doesn't look the same. Plus Saban is just not as fiery as he used to be and maybe that's due to Cochran's absence as well

Alabama has been number 1 or 2 in recruiting for many years. At worse they'll drop to a perennial top 5 similar to LSU and Texas.

I do agree though that stockpiling talent the way he used to is not possible anymore.

Not necessarily, if UGA and BAMA offer a similar package deal, but then Bama offers a quick turnaround on random swamp acreage for the uncle to boot, where's the kid going to go? Think hard.

Silly. Saban is a hell of a coach regardless of some of the built in advantages Bama has.

This is probably his weakest overall support staff.

I will give you that. Saban isn't the great offensive or defensive mind, but he is the greatest Head Coach of all time. That's not debatable.
