Have to say, it wasn't bad. I see they left out LSU in that freshman year and i will admit, that dude has issues. Unfortunately damn near ever pro athlete that goes broke claims some sort of mental illness. Hopefully they all get some help.
One thing i learned from that documentary... is that johnny football is indeed a bigger NFL bust JaMarcus Russell.

Why is LSU obsessing with the fact they aren’t included in this documentary

Thought it was good ...would of super cashed in on NIL ...kinda of a shame on the outcome

You're right. They should have included what turns out to be a meaningless game in there to appease you LSU fans

Highly touted recruit grows up in toxic party culture and gets paid millions to throw a ball around. That's not mental illness. That's just not knowing how to manage your time and money professionally. Dude probably could've had a longer career but sex/drugs/$$$ got in the way. I can't imagine having his lifestyle and money and opportunity and doing anything far from different.

Russell was first pick and played worse than Johnny. Russell is the biggest bust of all time.
What I took away was that Johnny had no drive to be a great player. He had a drive to be famous. And being a football player was just his means to become famous.

I don't know about that. Russell went #1 overall and Manziel fell to #24 (or somewhere around there).

its crazy they made up that he came from money to cover up how much he was getting. i fell for it big time. been callin him a spoiled rich kid for like 10 years now.
it was a good watch. made me like aggie a little more tbh. mizzou and a&m both had crazy good first years in.

I watched it too but completely understood why they left out LSU. I was rolling when they were talking about his magical freshman season showing their record game to fame and then completely skipped over the loss to LSU. Didn’t fit the narrative how he dominated SEC defenses because they got their arse kicked by LSU

Wouldn't A&M have won the West if they beat LSU?
Seems pretty meaningful.

It's not an A&M documentary.
And for the fellow LSU fans trying to make this about LSU, please go touch grass.

They left out quite a bit of stuff including his marriage/divorce, his playing time in the CFL, AAF and FCF.

No one really expected Manziel to do well- he didn't have anywhere near the hype of Russell

Uncle Nate got a get-out-of-jail-free card when Manziel dumped him.

Johnny was the 22nd pick and was cut after ONE YEAR. JR played for three.

I’m not defending him. But I see a lot of people throwing stones. I guarantee most people would have made most the same choices he did given the same circumstances. Most people may not have been so lucky to carry on for so long though. That’s a credit to how clever his entourage was. I was surprised at how much camera time Kingsbury had. Kinda guessed he would have really wanted to distance himself from the whole deal. Had he stayed on the coaching roster longer, Kevin sumlin may have made it longer here than he did

JM was not highly recruited. He was a 3-star who was not even nationally ranked. He was listed (Rivals) as the 45th best player in Texas.
