I won't deny texas is a huge brand, but the current state of the brand is a running joke called Texas is back. It's joked about on podcasts and by sports writers. The brand does have to big for the media make this(no one ever jokes is arky/mizzou etc. back) but do understand the brand isn't what you believe it to be in its current state.

The business acumen on this site is pedestrian at best.
Brand=monetization and yes, the running joke is true and Texas is still raking it in the market. Why? Because of the brand morons.
Ever hear of the Dallas Cowboys? Haven't done shite for a longer period than even Texas has struggled. The brand? They are still King of the hill.
The state fanbase and their national appeal aren't getting any smaller, quite the opposite and at paces that shite on their peers.

His post is totally over the top but Texas being the biggest brand in the SEC from day one is not wrong. But that means frickall once the pads are on. I'd rather a smaller brand with more hardware.

I don't think SEC programs and fans are all that concerned about "Brand" smack. I think they are kind of behind the times and still are mostly concerned about silly stuff like "winning".
They'd rather beat you on the field than on the clothing rack.
But you all have every right to be proud of being T-shirt, cap, and foam hook 'em horns champs. You've earned it.
