The more I think about it the more I realize he's right.
I always associate the Bama/LSU/Aggy/Georgia brands with the SEC. They'd all be worthless without the SEC.
I only associate Texas with Texas. Even after we join it'll be Texas and the SEC and not just "the SEC."

texas fans are stupid as hell and think they matter for some reason. Nobody gives a damn about texas. If that's the case, they could've elevated the Big12. texas can't elevate shite!

You are in a conference with Oklahoma and the 8 dwarves and you haven’t won the league since 2009.

Texas has been the crown jewel in the SEC's eyes since at least Harvey Schiller.
Anyway, what we need is to lock down our state's recruiting. No Texas program can win a title without doing so. TAMU pulling a Fredo and running to the SEC swung the door open for all SEC schools. Best way to combat that is to play and hopefully beat'em more often than not.

This will be their reasoning in 5-6 years for departure after being treated like a sorostitute at a frat mixer during their time in the SEC. "Well, our brand transcends this conference. We can do better elsewhere."
