Pettiford likely steps in as the backup SG

Pettiford if his game translates is the type of player we have missed since Samir. Give me the ball I can shoot the 3 decently but I can get by the defender. Howard is also a very bouncy athlete that may take some time to become a big time scorer because coaches will sag and make him shoot the 3. He’s like a longer Okoro. Not sure his defense will be that good.

Denver needs to get on the running back drills and run through the tackling arms with the basketball. He can get to the rim but can’t finish through contact. Fouled or not fouled.

Aden and Tre both have basketball skills surprisingly both need to increase their athleticism leaping ability and foot speed. Love Tre’s toughness just not sure how much higher his ceiling is without dropping a few pounds and working on his hops to be more explosive

If we go into next season with Aden and Tre as out PGs again then we will be looking at another early round exit imo. We have to get bigger and better there.

The tournament always has big upsets.

Kentucky and us are the victims.

Perfect storm.
They Made contested shots. We did not.
CBM lost composure which destroyed our rhythm.
Denver missed a FT. Tre missed FTs.
All added up to failure.

This year has been brutal as a fan.

Dominated in football by New Mexico State, losing on 4th and 31, and now this.

I guess I’m a glutton for punishment. Time to lower my expectations.

I woke up sad but the darkest night is over. Time for next year szn.

Hopefully Holloway is part of the package. I hope he can lock in this offseason and reverse his trajectory in the presence of stiff adversity.

That’s pretty spot on with how I feel about it after sleeping on it. The officiating definitely hurt, but we had every opportunity to win the game and just couldn’t get it done down the stretch. It hurts, but that’s the nature of basketball-upsets happen. Yale had a dude that made extremely difficult shots all game, and shot well enough from the line in the second half to get it done.

Cest la vie. Sometimes things just suck. I would still much rather be sitting around pissed about getting knocked out in the first round than watching our guys play in the NIT, or not at all.

This loss can easily stop the "we must hire Steven Pearl" talk as well.

Full circle. Now we are back to just being glad to be there.

JK. This entire sports year (past 12 months) sucked. Every part of it

Basketball has been the only bright spot for a number of years now. I guess if football wasn't garbage, being a first weekend out in the tourney for Auburn would be a step up, but they're our only hope! Well, if the Final Four is Bruce's peak, it's still more than I ever expected from Auburn basketball. Sucks to feel that way, but there's a lot of "just not enough" in being an Auburn fan.

Nope basketball was the biggest loser and none of those basketball officials better ever knock on my door.

That was a theft, plain and simple, and them and the selection committee deserve shipping off for an extra-long visit to a Siberian jail.

I wonder what the odds were for Yale to win? Seems like someone made a lot of money on that game.

Sadly it sounds like it’s always a safe bet to put your coins down against us.

I’m still mad; but would we rather go out now and lick our chops or get beat by UConn with this type of outcome in the S16?

We were not beating UConn!!!!

Now Bruce can focus and go get a big man, shooting 3, another Denver at 2, and a 4 for next yr. We need 4 players in the portal.

We have a major hole with our guards. You can't have subpar guard play in today's game. We have to correct that or it will be more of the same. Yale and Oakland showed what one shooter can do to a team.

What does this one-off abomination of a loss have to do with Steven Pearl?

Some wierdos felt so beholden to Bruce during the best days to support nepotism.

Imagine this board if we hired Steven at the first sign of struggle. It would be more dramatic than peak Bo/Finley or Gus hot seat

We need bigger guards with ability to finish at the rim… plain and simple… glad we won the sec tourney but this early exit is inexcusable
