Obviously one comes to mind.
But rank them 1-16 or you can rank in tiers if you like.
If you were a coach and you didn’t pull for any team; where would you want to coach?

We historically are absolutely terrible but from a facilities standpoint we are far from the worst with our recent upgrades and new arena

1. Kentucky - Only concern is unrealistic expectations
Tier 2 in any order
Alabama
Arkansas
Tennessee
Texas
Maybe Florida
Outside of that, all the other schools are the same really. All capable of having good programs but also mostly average in their history.

I'd move Georgia to group three.
Because of their basketball expectations or what's acceptable. If we are talking the benefits for the coach.

Depends on if we're in a period of Alabama athletics where we're supporting just football or the entire athletic department.
In a period where we're really just focused on football?
Bottom tier.
In a period where we're really trying to elevate all sports at the school (like now)?
Top tier, could make a solid argument for placing us in the highest tier possible.

What’s going on here? TRant finally acknowledging the greatness of the anointed ones?

Kentucky, then Arkansas and Tennessee are objectively the best destinations. It gets pretty subjective after that. Florida and Texas are both attractive.
These responses are also a stark reminder of how awful Mizzou hoops has been since joining the SEC. Once upon a time in a not so distant past, Mizzou was a pretty good hoops destination.

I was just doing tiers. Not the order for each tier.

I would definitely NOT want to be the guy that follows Bruce at Auburn. However, depending on how his successor does, I'd be very intrigued at being the successor to the successor.

1. Kentucky - the program speaks for itself and no one in the conference cares and prioritizes basketball more.
2. Arkansas - Good resources. Good history. Good support. Football doesn't suck up all of the attention there. Their is a strong desire to be great in basketball as well.
T3. Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, Florida, Missouri. ALL have moments of really good basketball history (though not always consistent). All have the resources to be very good if the right coach is in place. None are places where success has been guaranteed.
T4. Auburn, Georgia, Texas A&M. All have resources like the schools above them, but traditionally, for whatever reason, it has been harder to win there than at the other schools
T5. Mississippi St and Ole Miss. Neither probably has the resources the others have. But at least for Mississippi St, the desire to be really good is there. Ole Miss wants to be good too, but football and baseball are MUCH more important to them.
T6. Vanderbilt and South Carolina. It's tougher to get players at Vanderbilt than any of the other schools in the conference. And absent a few surprise moments here and there, neither school has even been a big factor in basketball.

I don't understand how you can rank us at 11. We have more final 4s than anyone not named UK, Arky, and UF in the conference, tied for the 2nd most conference titles behind Kentucky, and have the 2nd most NBA draft picks in the conference behind Kentucky.
