Everyone is talking about Mullen, Brady, & Lebby, but this is the coordinator spot where I wouldn't be shocked if Saban pulls an unexpected hire that no one is talking about. He does that quite often (see O'Brien himself and Armstrong being the latest one).
But whoever it is I bet Saban has had that person basically lined up for a little while now. Although who knows when Saban will let it leak.

None of the names thrown out wow me. I'd rather see a proven group of 5 OC get the bump up than another NFL retread.

Me, I will at least throw in some screen passes when my OL is getting worked. And I’ll only cost $1M/yr

I think people looking for another big name are going to be disappointed. And I think that’s probably a good thing.

No one should want this. His offense is a couple of steps beyond the wishbone and wing-T.

Would love Lebby but I feel it will be someone that no one is expecting

I think his Ravens offense looks like that to take advantage of Lamar. His 49ers offense (2011-14) was a pro style with read option blended in when Kapernick took over for Smith. Maybe it is past him now but that offense was physical and balanced and he did well adjusting to the talent the Niners had. He would have to adjust to the Bama playbook anyway but at least from his time with the 49ers he was really good at adding wrinkles. His playcalling was strong as well but I haven't watched enough of his Ravens work this year to have an opinion on if he still has it. I know early on he looked to be doing some strong stuff with Lamar.

There was speculation 2-3 weeks ago that Saban would elevate Joe Cox to the OC position, but that talk seems to have died down recently.

Based on the reported skills of our two leading QB's, an OC with strong QB development skills and a system that would utilize the running capabilities of the QBs would be best. An RPO guru might be best.
Who is that? Lebby, Milwee, Mullen?

All pro career aside from two years at Stanford in 2009-2010. I'd rather have someone with much more college experience.

I get the point and it is probably the safer choice but I would have liked 3 or 4 more years of Daboll as OC so it can work. Of course that means we could get a one and done like Daboll as well.

I actually think Mullen would be really successful with our personnel, but I personally don't want him as the OC because he's a clown and I don't see how him and Saban can co-exist

He would Beta to Saban in our system but you’re right he is a weird guy. I have met him once, he is incredibly nice.

It's shocking how different Mullen is in person than the persona that's been crafted around him. I've chatted with him at length a few times and he's not like what gets portrayed. I wouldn't describe him as weird, but kind of nerdy and socially awkward. That said he's pretty funny and engaging as well. I didn't talk much football with him, he's a pretty knowledgeable guy outside of football.
He knows what it's like working with a driven football savant like Meyer, he'd definitely know his role at Bama if that was the direction Saban went.
