Pruitt isn't happening, said it last night and from what a buddy who was there told me he was a bit fired up regarding the subject matter.

No names were mentioned, but Pruitt being impossible to happen was inferred.

He was fired up about people posting online and discussing the pros and cons of every candidate, because he said (prospective and current) student-athletes read that information and ask him why he's hiring so-and-so and not so-and-so instead.

He said he knows more about the situation than anyone else does, so he wants us to stop being negative with the guesses and post more positive content about where this is headed.

No one sees how it is hard to post positive remarks on a DC who has failed everywhere he has gone?

I am not sure Nick understands the credentials of so many of our posters.

Is this the 1st year Nick hasn't made it to Mobile for the Senior Bowl practice (support our players)?

That’s just not realistic. People are going to have opinions, and he is responsible for the majority of the unease a lot of people feel about these hires because of the last 2 guys he hired. Both were complete failures.

Saban already has the media in his pocket to the point they won't ask him challenging questions. And, the media is paid to do so. I ain't getting paid from this so if I see something that looks out of order or I feel like stating my opinion I'm going to speak on it. The end.

Hey maybe if he doesn't take so damn long this wouldn't happen?

Take some kind of responsibility for this growing shitshow because Nick you're the one driving the bus.

Some of y’all are letting the LSU trolls get to you. He might make a shite hire but the reality is no one knows what is going with these job searches.

I can’t get behind Grantham but I fine with nearly anyone else who isn’t a reach.

Saban can take as long as he wants, he has that right, but while he’s taking his sweet time he, and everyone else, should not be surprised in the rise in negative comments. The delay in news is leading to the concern. If Saban is unhappy he can blame himself.

People don’t worry about his recruiting, because we trust him, because he has proven year after year he has it handled and the results show that.

If he hired coordinators with the same success he signed recruits, no one would be worried.

I agree, he is as bad if not worse than Pete. The problem is no one knows if he is a realistic option. People are throwing shite on the wall and hoping it sticks.

You're simply insufferable much of the time. Have another down vote.

I think Lake got his buyout at UW so he might be relaxing right now.

It would be beyond disappointing to finally be rid of Golding to move on to Grantham. He is Pete without the recruiting ability. I hope beyond hope that Coach can get 2 good coordinators to make a last run for some titles. The DC position is one I am worried about more as the weeks go by. I feel if it were going to be Leonard, Schuman, or Pruitt (I believe we now have confirmation that he is not in the running) we would have known by now. So who does that leave. Lake, Steele, and who else?

Ryan Fowler just had a guy Dave Bartoo hiring consultant ranked the possible names of OC and DC. Ryan Grubb would have been an excellent hire He said Pruitt would be an excellent hire. Grantham is a good DC but he is feast or famine. Not a top 25 coordinator. Bill O’Brien grade out at 47 out of all OC and he said Tommy Reese grades out at 49 so it would be at best lateral. He also said you have to account that ND has far superior talent to most of their opponents so that elevated his numbers a bit. He said he wouldn’t even discuss Derek Dooley if asked his answer would be no period.

Posted this in OC thread. Bartoo also said if he was going to give Saban advice on a DC that his 5th best choice would be Brad Lambert DC at Wake Forest.

The fact that we’re hearing of interviews for OC and none for DC leads me to believe the hire is likely to be in house.

And what is this “don’t question me” bullshite? Once again it sounds like Saban is forgetting the standard he created here and getting upset when people state Bama is not living up to that standard.

Interviews don’t mean offers. Interview sometimes gets insight into the person’s thinking and can guide to that or another candidate. This is more public than most, but my sense is that it isn’t much different from past situations.

No one knew of Golding (really) before he was hired. He wasn’t universally loved by fans, but he recruited well and we won a natty with him here. No reason to think that recruiting and system aren’t Saban’s primary focuses this time too.

I’ve said since last season that Saban himself has forgotten the standard he demanded from everyone including the fan base. He’s owed to do however he sees fit. With that said, our early years mentality is completely gone and it shows.

I agree 100%. We aren’t dealing with the 2008-2017 Nick Saban anymore.

Oh the entitlement of this fanbase. It's hilarious. To think you hold this program to a higher standard than Nick Saban does.
