Most of the reports from media have been far and few between. And what is out there seems like they grabbed it from a message board.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, BOL has kinda dropped the ball during these hiring processes. They're not really providing much new information and then deleting user posts regarding rumors and what they've read/heard.
Idk if Saban is keeping info this close to the chest but when your purpose is to be delivering inside information, it can be a bad look when national writers are getting scoops or they best they can offer is doing a "follow up."

Given the uncertainty of his NCAA status I have no problem with Pruitt not happening. I have a huge problem with Grantham being anything more than a last resort though. That'd just be another lazy hire like BooB, and if it happens I am going to start coming to terms with the fact that 2020 was the last hurrah.

Lake: Dude has been MIA since he got fired from UW. Perhaps he doesn't want to get back into coaching?
Leonard: You know, it's possible he just doesn't want to be the DC at Bama or Saban doesn't think he's a good fit.
Also, it seems like people think Saban can just snap his fingers and anyone in the country will come to Tuscaloosa and join our staff. Sometimes it's not that simple.

It also seems like people are making wild guesses and assumptions of what's happening based on nothing but dreamed up "possible targets" and what they imagined might be happening with them.
We actually know nothing about what Saban is or has been doing/planning.
Between the trolls and run-of-the-mill idiots, this board has become almost as unreadable as the rant.

Here we go with the this board is intolerable because I don’t like or approve of what people post again.

Rodney Orr was on Jox and just speaking casually he bounced this name off of the 3 Man Front guys: Kevin Steele.
I think we could do worse than Steele and he would certainly be better than Grantham. He’s at Miami right now, so I think we could lure him away from them.

I’ve been waiting to see how long it would take for Steele’s name to pop up. Took longer that I thought. Waiting for Mushchamp to become the target after Steele.

Hard to argue with the job Steele did at Auburn. They didn't even care about defense and still had one of the best.

All these "Just trust Saban" guys are forgetting one thing: Saban hired Pete and BoB, so he's not infallible and he has shown in the past he'll make lazy/lousy hires and then stick with them for way too long.
I'm nervous, because I was under the impression that he was determined to knock these hires out of the park and go on one final run before he retires, but now it's looking like he's kind of flailing around aimlessly. If he's getting testy at people for just talking about it, then things must not be going well.
I'm a big Saban fan, but the longer this drags on and the more names that are taken off the board, the worse we look.

This is exactly where I am. It doesnt feel like the past hires. Like we are in a new territory.
