Neuheisal said it this morning on XM that buzz around the SEC Champ game was theta Jimmy is telling Ray Tanner that Shane Beamer gets $7.5M/yr or he walks.
Where? Nobody knows. VA Tech can't fire their coach after 1 year after just paying Fuente to leave. But that's never stopped Sexton from getting dumbass ADs to bid against themselves before.
Beamer currently makes about $2.75M/yr...

Beaner deserves a serious raise, but I tell him to walk if he wants triple his salary for this year where they largely looked like arse.

He definitely deserves a big raise. Although, 7.5 could be a bit high after his 2nd year.

Being an A&M fan, I think we can speak with authority on this subject.... While Beamer probably deserves somewhat of a raise, they should tell sexton to take a hike. He's just always fishing for the next sucker to bait into a big contract so he gets his commission.

I like Shane, and I think he'll have some success here.
But, he doesn't have a landing spot. Auburn job is filled. VaTech unrealistic. Louisville a serious step down.
He gets a raise to 4.0 mil, and uses the rest for a legit OC.

Yeah, if so AD should have said, "Sounds good, tell him he needs to be out of his office by friday" and then hang up the phone. Letting agents like this control everything and bullying them to higher and higher salaries is eventually gonna destroy actual attendance at games. People won't be able to afford it or will justify staying home and doing something else with that money.

I don’t think he does but he probably will. They had a good season but we’re still only 4-4 in conference play. And 3-5 the year before. This is his first head coaching job so I don’t think he’s shown enough to warrant a raise. USC did him a favor hiring him and if he sucked arse they’d still owe him his contract so he should deserves to coach under that deal at least one more year.
