Unless you think UGA's win over Oregon was more impressive. Seriously, though, I can't stand the vols or their fans, but tell me why they aren't the #1 team come Monday?

How does beating the number 3 team make you the number 1 team?

Honestly, on a neutral field, UT is probably an underdog to UGA, OSU and maybe even Michigan (who had a pretty convincing top 10 win today). Who really cares at this point. Vols get to play UGA in a couple of weeks. That’s all that matters.

You played even with the #3 team and squeaked out a win at home. Congrats. That doesn’t make you #1.

Georgia is #1. They’ve whipped who’ve they played. It will wash out after November 11. Otherwise it doesn’t matter. But UT should be in the top 3. Should Ole Miss be in the top 10? I don’t think so but the other side would say we have won what we should’ve won. So who knows? It’ll wash out before it is all said and done. Rankings are opinions like assholes. All the same. Everyone has them.

I agree that Georgia and Ohio State should stay ahead of Tennessee.

I also think UGA fans shouldn't boast about beating Oregon when Oregon was debuting a new staff including a head coach that has never been a head coach at a major Power 5 school.

I think UT should be 3, but you never know..

UGA had 32 votes, OSU had 20, Bama had 11, 46 total points difference between 1st and 3rd.
Plus Michigan looked great. There is no way to know where the 11 first place votes will go and if UGA and OSU lose some. Thus has been the most volatile poll I can remember. Which is good imo. I hate the you don’t move down unless you lose thing.

Based on All year ..

I would have…

1. OSU
2. UGA
3. UM
4. UT
5. Bama
6. Ole Miss
7. TCU
8. UCLA
9. Oregon
10. Clemson

I know Clemson is undefeated, but man the ACC is soft, they have escaped some really average teams. They’ll Probly be at least number 5.

I’ll answer this one: Because it’s a poll and not a merit based ranking. Like it always has been. Georgia is a TD favorite over UT on a neutral field. Alabama is prob a 3pt favorite on a neutral field. Doesn’t mean either would win but that’s the reality. The only thing that matters is the CFP rankings and UT may be #1 in those.

I think Tennessee at #3 is good for now. I want Georgia ranked #1.

UGA's win is not more impressive in terms of the quality of the opponent. It may be when you consider the margin (UGA won by 43 points).

The reason voters may put UGA ahead of UT is simply the fact that while UT's offense looks great, their defense does not. Using Bama as the measuring stick, it's on par with Vandy and Arkansas's defense.

UGA does still look like a much more complete team all the way around.

Typical knee jerk reaction, Tennessee is hot and has a great offensive but the defense is very average, and the pass rush is bad. Offense doesn't travel, this is a two loss team
