Breaking News

AU will consider Hugh Freeze and Lane Kiffin for their open HC position.

More to come folks.

My source tells me Hugh has requested more minutes for his cell plan in contract negotiations

Would be a bad deal for Kiffin. He's got momentum where he's at.

I would be shocked if this happens. He is at the flagship U for the state of Miss. Plus he is coach in waiting at Bama. Havent you been paying attention

Barely an upward move, that would be more like a lateral move.

Kiffin is about as trustworthy as a rattlesnake with a "pet me" sign. His moral character was revealed 13 years ago when he was at Tennessee. Going through Saban's coaching rehab program does not change who he is.

I've never understood the Matt Rhule love. That seems like a disaster waiting to happen.

why because he failed in the nfl? where you confused at the saban love when he went to Bama?

you realize, Rhule turned around 2 different programs very quickly. Much like saban, he was a terrible fit for the NFL from the start. everything he does well...means shite int he nfl but helps kill it in college.

He did come out and say that anyone that takes the job after Saban would be stupid.

The next coach at Bama will be in the shadow of two legends--the Bear and Saban. Whoever he is will need to realize that he must immediately win it all big.

Also: how many more lame 'Kiffin to Auburn' threads are we gonna have?

I absolutely think we should go after him and make him say “no”. I don’t feel like he’ll come to AU because we have shite in our nest so much at this point but I absolutely think he’s they guy we start and exhaust all options with and then adjust if we can’t get him.

ETA: and Money won’t be the reason we don’t land him. We have plenty of money. It’ll be that we are the shite show that we are administrately

Why would a coach in his right mind step into that sh*t storm which is Auburn?

Who do you take your orders from? The AD - not likely. The big boosters - now you are on to something.

Coaches think they can overcome the meddling by the big boosters but in reality they usually don't.

Kiffin has no interference from boosters at OM. What he says goes. He can make up to 10 mil with incentives. His daughter came to live with him and is a senior in high school planning to enroll at OM. The Grove NIL Collective was just set up so that OM will be competitive with anyone in that area. Kiffin works the portal to perfection.

Auburn has no shot at Kiffin. No one does. He can accomplish his goals where he is. NY6 bowl in second year. Still in running for SEC West in his third. He doesn't need to go anywhere. And he won't.

He wanted the Miami job last year but they got their first choice.

He isn’t leaving OM for the Auburn job

I’ve even seen a few OM fans admit here he would have taken the Miami job if offered.

He made it clear on a podcast last year he misses the blue water and doesn’t mess with the dirty brown water.

Miami when good gets the same fan support as OM. He has to beg OM fans to come to games.

Miami is much easier to recruit to. You can win a NC there and not have to recruit North of Tampa

Usually there needs to be an angle for an angling. What’s Auburn’s selling point right now? It would be a complete rebuild with pain in the arse boosters who want to win immediately
