Very interested to see what this guy can do; he is low rated because he is from Germany.

Not sure how competitive football is over there, but he looks the part. We’ve got enough linebackers that we can definitely afford to take a chance on him.

He has done exceptional at camps, though is very raw.

There is a Cleveland Browns player named Ogbu Okaronkwo, wonder if they are related?

I just saw some highlights on this kid. A few interceptions with him as a DB and also returns kicks. Sort of reminds me of M Barron with his size and the way he tackles.

How are we looking with Jared Smith and does him transferring to Thompson help us at all?

I'd really like to see Bama sign one more true DT or DE in this class. Not sure if that's going to happen. I know about that kid from Canada (originally from Cameroon) but who knows.

DB but not sure between corner and safety if that's what you meant. Apparently he wants to play DB.

How are y'all feeling about the class so far? Haven't been around here too much.

Was listening to jox the other day...maybe it was Rodney Orr as a guest. Anyways, he seemed to think Saban was really going to hit the portal hard this upcoming period.

I would imagine that nearly every commit in Aggy's class is looking around right now. The money for Jimbo's buyout is surely being raised. It's just a matter of when they get it and how much of a negative effect it has on their NIL slush fund.

Holman Wiggins was just in Texas visiting him. Looks like that went well.

I think in this landscape, when Saban looks at the team, if he doesn't have at least a 4th or 5th round projected draft pick starting or rapidly developing, Saban will try to upgrade with transfers. To many other schools are grabbing players that are game changers and with the way this is going, players from smaller schools who could get drafted later rounds will look to go to a program like ours.

This class as a whole (not ours, the entire cycle) is a down year. Talent is just not as good.

Watts and Bone over at BoL have basically said we've got a handful (less than 10) targets left that are really being recruited. We'll try to flip a few guys we like and maybe add a few more. But it's, by design, not going to be the most dominate #1 ranked class. We just didn't approach it that way, given our huge class last year and the talent drop this year. We've got a few high end guys in this class and then a lot of high-ceiling project players. We will likely take 5-10 guys out of the portal.

The only guy of consequence that's really left is Seaton. He's a must get.

2025 class is setting up to be absolutely massive though. I would expect another very highly rated class in 2025.

I'm trying not to give much credibility to the lower ranking of our class this year. I know that our coaching staff is great at identifying talent. However, it does seem a bit abnormal that we are sitting in our current position (around 5th I believe). We did have a sensational class last year, and the 2024 class looks to be flush with top level talent (that I hope we can hold). I just hope that we have some good fillers in this class.

Full transparency, I have not followed recruiting as closely this year, and haven't even watched many of the highlight tapes of the recruits

We have four or five guys who are ranked low, but have a ton of potential. Faga(DL), Ionata (OL), Sanders, (OL), Morgan (CB), and a couple others the staff seemed to make them a big priority.

Okoronkwo is another that has boom or bust potential. He has all the physical attributes, seems to understand the game, but has only played against European competition. Did really well when he called here, and earned an offer from Saban. Biggest concern is how long will it take for him to catch up to much better competition, players, and much more complicated schemes.
