Goes to school on LSU's campus, his father played for LSU & works for the LSU athletic department. How on Earth does LSU let him go, and not just go, go to the school their coach just came from. Could not think of more of a middle finger to Brian Kelly.
Also, for as much as LSU keeps homegrown talent it seems to be a trend of University High kids not wanting to go to LSU (Dylan Moses, Jardin Gilbert, etc.) which is very interesting.

Sometimes kids just want to get away; carve their own path. I dont find it odd at all not wanting to go to school on the same campus from grades 9 through college.

Don't understand why people don't research a situation before spitting stupid takes. LSU has always struggled with UHigh kids. Mainly because they have spent their whole lives on campus and are ready for a change of scene. Sometimes kids just want to get away. LSU tried, because we have to, but we have known for a while he was going out of state.

His brother Austin is an incoming freshman at Auburn (4star CB).

Isn't Ausberry's older brother is at Auburn? Seems the kids just wanted to blaze their own path, nothing wrong with that.

I've been waiting on this topic.

I know I ton of people who live in Auburn and their kids go to college elsewhere. They don't want to be around momma.

A Tennessee fan worried about a Louisiana high school kid going to Notre Dame

Have you been to BR/LA lately, its has turned into a third world country so I can understand why they would want to leave. They get refugee status leaving the state.

My kid grew up in metro Baton Rouge - she decided to go to Auburn - just wanted a change of scenery (even though I pushed LSU on her because she had a free ride there)

I don’t blame the kid for wanting to experience somewhere new and make his own path.
Would have loved to see him at LSU though.

The kid has been on LSU's campus his entire life. Did it cross your pea brain that he might like to see something different??

His dad would basically know every move of his day to day life. I would hate to go play at a school where my dad was actively working in the athletic department.

I remember when I was at LSU and seeing all the U-High kids walk over to the Union for lunch. It really is an extension of where they spend the entirety of 12 years. It’s no surprise when they go elsewhere. Oddly enough Dillon Moses was probably the closest we had to a kid from there. And Gordon McKernons kid.

LSU has recently had a trend of U-High kids just wanting to leave the state but they have also kept some kids from the school over the years too. This kid’s recruitment is even more of an outlier when you consider his dad is a very controversial figure on campus righ now who almost got fired last year and still might as he is included in some some legal issues.
