Jacksonville is a damn shithole! I’ve never understood why they played it there anyway. Make it a home and home and be done with it.

I think now that Kirby has won a natty and the pressure is off, he isn't going to push to move the game for recruiting purposes. Besides, there are too many big Georgia boosters who want it kept in Jax. They love their time in St. Simons. It is actually a more fun week for Georgia fans than it is for Florida fans. We don't have a fall break for the student either.

That was one of the attractions as a student (or faculty). The school embraced the trip to jacksonville.
Now that im older, i enjoy the excuse to hit the beach and to make a big deal out of the trip. I can plan my work calendar around it every year. Ol reliable.

Not arguing, you should know. But if Jacksonville holds 69k and your stadium holds 92.7k, and UF gets half the tix in Jacksonville, how is there not a ticket crunch? Somebody has to be missing out. You damn sure couldn't easily get tickets to Birmingham Iron Bowls.
1) this isnt legion field. There are 83,000 seats for the game.
2) there are a ton of people who tailgate and dont enter the game. The tailgates are awesome and fun. I know plenty who go down for the party and watch the games happily at the tailgate. And ive known several who had tickets but passed out before they could get inside.

That's what people don't understand, it's not just a game, it's a three day event.

you can always tell the people who have never been because they yell the loudest about wanting it moved.

But, Pat Dye and Auburn broke their long-standing tradition of playing Alabama in Birmingham in 1989, a tradition that had stood since 1904.
Auburn did play Alabama in Bham from 1904-1907, BUT then did not play Alabama in Bham until 1948.... So we went 41 years without playing Bama in Bham The DSOR is our longest running rivalry and they may kill that. Auburn is in favor of a 3-6 with our three being Bama, UGA and Florida.

Truly nothing better than skipping class on the Thursday before the Florida game and booking it down to SSI early.
Frat beach and GA/FL weekend is a cultural and religious experience. Nothing but great memories, even if the Dawgs lost. (I only went 2-2 against y'all in college)

No "UGA" didn't. A sports writer asked on twitter.
Ohhhhhhhhh dear!! Did I forget to insert "sportswriter" or "SW" after UGA??? I did, I did, I did!
Might the game leave Jax? It's quite possible, indeed. Smart has more power/influence in this matter than y-o-u may believe.
Personally, I hope it stays in Jax.

Exactly what year did you first attend the Georgia-Florida game?

Who amongst us hasn't shown up dead-sober to the tailgate, only to come stumbling out of the RV lot less than 30 minutes later?

For the sake of fairness to really everyone in the league, it should be a Home and Home.
Good lord. This kind of thinking is what is killing college football. Georgia gets the same amount of tickets as Florida. South GA and J'vile is FULL of Dawg fans. It isn't like they are traveling cross country.
Pat Dye used some bullshite that Legion Field was astro turf and Auburn ONLY played like 5 other games a year on it so they weren't as used to it.
What will decide the cocktail party location is the same thing that decided the Iron Bowl...M-O-N-E-Y. Getting Bama to Auburn was going to bring benefits to that school unimagined. Its all about money.
Traditions be damned.
having been to the WLOCP, it would be a shame to have this home and home. It is an event, damn near a holiday. Like the Iron Bowl USED to be.

1993, although admittedly that was as a youngster and I was mostly just there hanging around town with my family and did not actually get to go in the game. A couple more instances like that through the 90s and then from 2001 to present have been to all of them, 21 in a row.

HOW can you admit that 71.5 miles from Gainesville isn't "in their backyard"?
Hell, people bi+ch that Atlanta is still "home" for UGA (71.8 miles)!
