Sounds like you guys have already figured out wins are about to become really hard to come by. Good job getting out there to see a game you knew you could win!

Congratulations on jumping up to the smallest stadium in the top half of the conference. You will come in and be the West Virginia (Big-12 equivalent) of the SEC when it comes to stadium capacity.
Way to move the goalposts, this conversation was simply about a statement made about them being in the bottom half, I just pointed out that the statement would be incorrect, not anything about pride. Personally I really don't think stadium size means much. Have you been to DKR?? Have you been to Autzen. Capacity at 89000 by 2024 makes OU #12 in the US and #7 in the SEC, I'm fine with that.

That size stadium ranks in bottom half of the SEC
Irrelevant since they aren't in the SEC as of yet.

My sister used to live in Oklahoma. Absolutely nothing to do.
She's not wrong. Lived there for a year.
Worst state in the Union, hands down.

Sooner fans are more upbeat about the new direction of the program since Venables was hired ( and Lincoln left) than the record attendance at the spring game.
Lincoln took a playoff team and devolved it to a team that could barely get third in the Big 12 in a down year for the Big 12. Lincoln was gifted 3 great QBs (Baker, Kyler, Jalen). Then ran off Rattler and stole Caleb...... Also Lincoln never grew into the HC role.
Venables brought in a real defense. The new offense with Lebby is fast and dynamic. Sooners now have a special teams coach ( which Riley ignored.). Venables brings ten times more energy and charisma than Riley.
So the 75,000 plus is not the big deal, the positive future that brought in the 75,000 is the big deal.
PS ..Riley left because he was scared of the SEC.....

Lebby hire was key. Will not be surprised if he’s a head coach in the next couple of years.

May become a very good head coach or may be an abject failure. None of us yet know.

You will be 9th in capacity out of 16 teams behind A&M, Tennessee, LSU, Alabama, Texas, Georgia, Florida and Auburn
The importance of stadium capacity has been going down for years. Amenities are where the future is because retention is where things are now. When OU did their last stadium renovation, it reduced capacity but added better seating, more boxes and suites. The days of trying to stuff as many fans in the stadium are gone and not coming back.

Damn, that’s sad. We packed 93k into our spring game back in 2016 and the stadium only holds 92,746

I'm not sure what scrimmage attendance smack is supposed to mean.
A&M bragged about this a few years ago. Didn't seem to translate to more wins.
When did this meaningless Stat become a deek measuring tool?

chokelahoma trying to talk stadium smack on an SEC board where half the stadiums in the league are bigger than them. That's rich.

How nice the fan base is to support an 8-4 team like that. Once you get in the SEC you will have more 6-6 years coming than you ever had in school history.

It’s bigger than Vanderbilt’s stadium now.

BREAKING: Nothing to do in Oklahoma. Desperate citizens flock to spring game. News at 6.

The medium fish (OU) getting thrown into the big pond (tSEC) is going to be absolute culture shock for OU fans.
