In the SEC, baseball is a revenue sport at a handful of schools.
Only 4 out of 14.

Very true. I didn’t know it until last year, but College Hockey actually brings in more revenue yearly than College Baseball. I had no idea.
College hockey is HUGE in the northeast (Boston, Rhode Island, CT), and pretty strong in the Midwest (Michigan/Illinois) but particularly in Minnesota and North Dakota. There are like 3 teams in Minnesota that are college hockey powerhouses alone. U Minn is in a pretty sizable metro area too,

They have 5 MLB teams. They don't GAF about college baseball.

Simple math.
If A&M plays 30 homes, averages 5k a game, and each ticket costs $15. That’s 2.25 M. This is before TV, donations, ads, concessions, suites, clubs, etc. Someone like Lsu, Arkansas, etc would top that. I’d guess a dozen or so schools make revenue that crushes the hockey average. If you took the revenue from the top 60 baseball programs, I’d guess it’d be similar.
Now do if they turn a profit:break even is another story. You factor in baseball only has an expense of 11.7 schollies. I believe hockey is 18. Idk which is more money to maintain facility wise. I assume hockey shares with basketball, right? I also assume baseball coaches are more well paid, but it’s only 3 paid coaches.
If you call baseball a niche sport, then what the hell is hockey? A niche of a niche.

This is based on average but he's right
No he isn't
He said nothing about a per team "average" He just stated that it brings in more revenue and it clearly doesn't
ETA The graphic makes zero sense and I'd love to see how they compiled these numbers. The "average revenue" per team in rowing is close to $1 million? Equestrian? People pay to watch both sports?
The chart is completely screwy

There are more people in line for the bathroom at Disney World.

I kind of stopped paying attention to attendance when some schools started including season ticket sells instead of actual attendance.

Rowing $932,646? All you have to do to watch is go stand on the ditch bank.

Of that list, Equestrian and Rowing
surprise me. How the hell do you generate
revenue from watching horses run & hop around,
or rowing ? Rowing ? Really ?

I've been to Omaha to watch my team 3 times. My dad played college baseball. I produced college baseball games for 3 years when i was working for FOX Sports College baseball sucks
I’ve done none of that and I enjoy watching my team.
Find something else to do.

I edited my comment to say the same. The chart makes zero sense and I'd love to see how they came up with those numbers.

That chart came from a dept of the government…. Should tell you all you need to know.
Look at how EVEN all these sports are that NOBODY watches and ask yourself WHY they would be reported that way.
Classic case of ‘make the numbers say what we want them to say.’

Bull shite
College baseball is way more exciting to watch than that boring arse pro baseball.
I’d just about rather watch grass grow than watch a regular season pro baseball game

We played a weekend series (might have been Thurs-Sun) vs. Southern California and there might have been 2k there on Saturday night with the majority of the fans being Hog fans.
Nobody gives a shite out there. It's f'n weird too because Southern Cal historically is a damn good program.
"But there is sooooooooooooooooooooooo much to do out there... that's why the fans don't show up."
There is also a million f'n people out there. but they'd rather dye their hair rainbow and shite on the sidewalk.
