SEC Baseball is fun to follow. It would help the sport if the season would start a month later than it does. LSU just played Maine on Feb 18-19-20 and Feb 18 was the first time Maine "practiced" outside...and it was their first game!

College baseball isn't that popular, especially out west.

Based on the OP and his hat, its no surprise that the said hair on his pic it that which belonged to a sheep.

No he isn't

He said nothing about a per team "average" He just stated that it brings in more revenue and it clearly doesn't

ETA The graphic makes zero sense and I'd love to see how they compiled these numbers. The "average revenue" per team in rowing is close to $1 million? Equestrian? People pay to watch both sports?

The chart is completely screwy

Clearly am. Take it up with Business Insider, sir. I don’t make the rules or generate revenue numbers.

Hockey is played during the winter when there isn’t shite to do up north because it’s cold and snowy. Baseball is played in the spring when people are excited to get outside and do things. I don’t know but it wouldn’t surprise me Hockey has better numbers.

I think college baseball is a great product but baseball in general is boring. Kids aren’t entertained since it’s slow.

Lmao you’ve gotta be kidding me! That’s sad because a lot of those programs are pretty damn good historically.

Imagine being a prospect growing up on the West Coast, checking those out, then taking a visit to Arkansas, Miss St, LSU etc.

I’d just about rather watch grass grow than watch a regular season pro baseball game

Agree to disagree

No one gives a shite about college baseball

It's a niche sport

It's not just college baseball, college sports out west just really aren't that popular. There are some schools that do well i.e Oregon, Utah however it still pales in comparison even to the B1G

Lots of other things out there to do, like BLM marches, staying in your tent shooting heroin, etc.

I wonder what the capacity of those stadiums are?

Check the attendance of most of the Pac12 football teams and you will clearly see that even football doesn't matter anymore.

MLB would be much more exciting for baseball fans and players if they would reduce the regular season schedule by 60-70 games.

They have 5 MLB teams. They don't GAF about college baseball.

I went to college in San Diego and it really never occurred to me to go to a college games instead of the Padres. And that was the 00s Padres.

Most College sports aren't popular out west. However, California is the top state for baseball talent and a lot of Omaha teams have come out there, and I'm not even talking PAC 12.

No, nobody has ever said that. It’s just a lie parroted by fans of teams who suck at the sport

Cal poly should just add 4 or 5k to theirs, like Ole Miss does every game. It's how you make a stadium with 6k actual seats regularly have attendance of 11,000 plus.

Numberwang with Ole Miss on the brain. Shocker!
