Half the buildings on the list were named after the wife or daughter of some dude that did something. What a joke.

I will just say this and Im a little more experienced that a lot of you here.

In a few years, we are ALL (Boys, girls, blacks, whites, yellows, transgenders, gays, straights, men, women, children) going to be standing around looking at the world we live in and we are all going to wonder how in the hell did everything get so fricked up.

Its going to happen. And there will be no easy way to fix the pure stupidity that is going on right now. Some of us will be too old to really give a shite. We will have made our way and wont really give a shite about society but for the ones who will be left to deal with the aftermath, its not going to be fun

I agree the world is fricked up right now but society always moves in waves and finds ways to fix itself. And some progressive causes are legitimately good. Some aren’t but not at all

I live in an epicenter of wokeness and nothing that’s happening around me has changed anything about my life.

We had 2 weeks of massive protests and it didn’t impact a single thing that I did. I went to work, went out to eat, exercised, got into the woods. Only way I knew something was going on around me was by getting on the internet and reading about it.

I think if you’re (not aimed at you specifically, Lanier) feeling suddenly unsettled about the present or future then you may be best served by unplugging from the current news cycle and spending some more time offline. I’m sure some of are genuinely impacted by the wokeness of this moment. I feel especially bad for those of us in local governments and police departments.

The rest of us are eating the same shite sandwich tomorrow as we ate today and yesterday

Its slow around here. We need something to talk about

And Jones, I agree and Im in the same boat myself. I am focused on work right now and I am hard at it. Im really not paying a lot of attention to things, just the bits and pieces I pick up.

If Auburn actually threatened a new fight song, the copyright holders would allow any modification.

Cancel the eagle pregame flight because it is too American. I’m sure it offends some animal rights people even though those birds are treated better than most people.

I agree with everything Lanier has said. It's not that my life has personalty changed. I go to work everyday the same as I did before the country went to hell in a basket. My fear is the world my kids will grow up in. The way I was raised was if you wanted something you worked your arse off for it. The attitude of this younger generation is weak minded. I cannot wrap my mind this whole BLM movement. I'm far from racist, I love all people regardless of color. Granted some people may have an easier road than others, but everyone has a road to a good life in this country if they work hard for it. It's just about having the motivation to do so.

I’ll say there is a real part of me and my wife that doesn’t want a kid to grow up in this ridiculous cancel culture we are fostering. There is a chance for some really bad violence on the horizon if our political discourse doesn’t become less polarized, but the polarization is a positive feedback loop of sorts so every day it feels more and more inevitable.

So not raising good kids will make it better?

Depends on how badly I would deem the kids would have it vs. the duty I felt to society and how much good I felt it would do to raise up “good kids” in society

Personally

I'd be willing to bet on the parenting that cared enough to make that choice.
