The country is just making dumb snap decisions to try and be a "part" of whatever is going on right now. UF has decided that its a bad thing to do the Gator bait chant even though they have no proof it ever had anything racist about it.

What you say Auburn peeps. What will be Auburn's "contribution" to this big change going on that will end racism for ever be?

What you got? No more two bits?

Add serpentine sword handles to the list of changes.

I guess since I have no University of Virginia ties and no knowledge of their history, I wouldn't have known that their sword images w/ serpentine handles directly related to serpentine walls designed by Thomas Jefferson, to keep slave labor inside their walls.

As to our Auburn history...will we have to remove the words 'power of Dixie land...' from its lyrics?

Can't re-write it because we don't own the copyright. New fight song here we come.

There is already a campaign for that. Wallace Hall, Graves Amphitheater, Samford Hall, and a couple of others.

Great time to rename one after Coach Dye.

The professor that said he would not say “war eagle” comes to mind. Saying “war” is just too violent and insensitive for our fragile feelings. The fact that the myth originated from the civil war..

oh oh...you're right. forgot about the 'War Eagle' cry during the civil war.

Does anyone realize how many symbols related to the confederacy there are out there? over 1,700. And just image how many paintings all over the country their are that depicted Southern life with images of slaves in them.

And Delaware alone was a slave state who sided with the Union. figure that one out.

I could very easily see "War Eagle" being a target.

Renaming stuff doesn't really bother me. It's the people who actively seek to feel oppressed by looking into every named building, street, etc. for some past transgression. Yet it's likely these same people, who, when they first set foot on campus and saw Samford Hall or Graves Amphitheater, had no idea of what the persons whose names on those buildings etc. actually did to cause such transgressions, and likely didn't for some time.

And the above doesn't apply to any particular race, gender, whatever. It could be Bubba, a white guy who hates gay black people, from Tallapoosa wanting to rename some building because he just found out that it was named after a gay black man.

Ignorance truly is bliss.

And voted against the 13th Amendment (didn't ratify it until 1901 I think), and slaves in the state were not freed until Dec 1865 when the 13th was officially ratified.

But that's a whole 'nother story.

As is the namesake of Yale University, and Brown University, and Emory University.

I am surprised that Yale hasn't changed their name yet. I agree that people are too sensitive and always looking for a reason to be oppressed.

Changing lyrics is pointless... we’re all going to sing it how we want to sing it.... it’s not like the band is saying the lyrics.

This is an easy fix, guys.

All campus buildings need to be named after either black or "woke" white people.

Shug Jordan's name is gonna have to come off the stadium. He killed some Frenchies in WW2.

We need all of this done quickly before Antifa occupies Toomer's corner.
