frick that. I'm all in on Phillip Lolley. Only one we can afford after this buyout.

Why do you people keep bringing up money as if we don't have it? The reason why we have an entrenched "good ole' boy network" is because we've got a lot of guys with a lot of money. Paying buyouts and paying coaches will not be a problem, seriously. The bigger problem is waning attendance and an empty stadium, which is what we're going to be getting with our performance on the field. Once we hit rock bottom, the wallets will open up quicktime.

Why do we have to hit rock bottom after every few years? Its so exhausting being an Auburn fan

Because, for the most part, we have an athletic department that is very complacent and doesn't plan for the future, causing them to be reactionary.

I actually think Mike Shula would do a good job. Better fit that Lane Kiffen and has about the same HC record.

Sonny Dykes would be an interesting name, probably hasn't won enough big games though.

Until Jay Jacobs is gone we will suck at every sport. That guy has an incredible ability at finding losers

Could we grab Josh McDaniels?
As a Denver Broncos fan, no, stop. He's terrible. Cocky, douchebag mother-fricker. He's worse than Lane Kiffin.

He's a 4-time SB champion who's coached under Belichick.

He's also 11-17 as a head coach, while not even lasting a full 2 seasons. And that's after starting 6-0.

Besides, how have Bill Belichick's other former assistants done while being head coaches? Bill O’Brien? Jim Schwartz? Eric Mangini? Romeo Crennel? Charlie Weis? (yes, I'm aware Nick Saban is one, but he's an obvious outlier). Kirk Ferentz is the Jeff Fisher of college football, IMO.

We are gonna get one more year of Gustard. The new AD will hire someone after next season. Besides any sumbitch we hire would be an improvement over Gus at this point. He has gone full retard. Muschamp knew it, DC knew it gotdamn Bob Dole knows it.

I'm hopeful for a new AD but I don't think that's a given

I think it will become a given as this season goes on. In my mind I see Gus proving how incompetent he is. People are going to be so pissed and the combined records of Chiz and Gus will be the 2 worst in program history. Besides look at BB and Baseball under JJ. We have sucked in big 3 sports since he has been AD. No sane person would let JJ hire anyone for anything, much less a HC.

Perhaps the only affordable option is make Kevin Steele Head Coach. Let Gus work with the QB's and tell him to STFU. Really STFU and do your job, you got the money but that's where we are, you've left AU with no other choices. He can either stay around or leave either way no more musical chairs, likely never ever to see the wirly dervish, and maybe just maybe an adjustment might be made after the half.
