You want Kevin Steele as Auburn's head coach?

This would be a JJ hire no doubt.

Search committee takes a couple months, hires a guy on campus

Well, he did hire Gene Chizik after going 5-19 at Iowa State...and Gene Chizik after one year at Arkansas State. 9-36 as a head coach? Let's hire Kevin Steele.

What's unrealistic about Shaw assuming we can afford to pay him what he wants?

The most JJ hire would be Mark Stoops.

The better question is what is realistic about Shaw?

What he does would not work in the SEC. He basically overpowers a spread league (based on Harbaugh template.) Michigan State and LSU prove you cannot out muscle Saban.

Short of winning a NC, he's pretty much hit the ceiling at Stanford. A good next step in his career would be to come to the SEC.

That is exactly the type of hire that I would expect from frick up Jacobs. Big Game gets his arse ran out at Norman and we take him on. Big splash move that would save Jacobs job another 3-4 years until he decides to retire. Who knows at this point?

We should have hired Gary Patterson years ago. Established coach, great defense. But frick up screwed that one up to didn't he.?

Larry Fedora may be the best that we could get. But I am not impressed with him that much. I think that he would be ok at Auburn but he is not premier.

Jacobs must go before the next hire is made. That dimwit cannot be allowed to hire another coach.

Especially life at his alma mater where they'll pay him a competitive amount and he gets to live in Palo Alto
