In my lifetime, this is peak Auburn basketball.

I remember Eddie Johnson, Mike Mitchell, and Stan Pietzcavage(spelling?).

I was at Auburn with Barkley, Person era with Sonny Smith.

Ellis brought Porter and a 1 seed.

Have we made the NCAA tournament 12 times?
We are not Kansas, Duke, UCLA.

Even in SEC, we are all time 11 or 12.
Bruce Pearl has made us relevant.

Bucky needs to show Pearl how to close.

And Pearl missed big time on W Green and Zep Jasper.

Minus Broome our whole lineup was arse last year. Nobody here is going to miss
Wendy or Zep or Flamigan or Cardwell or KD or Jwill.



Those are high floor low ceiling players and Bruce got everything he could out of them. Bruce needs to get better talent on the plains so that our ceiling can get higher.

A lot of those players I named off would be better served running with the 2s or deferring to the alpha. Jwill is a good example.He is a good role player, but that is all he has proven to be. When the game is tight he often gets quieter than a mouse.

KU board saying it was a bidding war late and they came out on top.

These guys don’t care about what team they go to as long as they get the most money possible. If they’re good enough, they’ll get to the league playing for any team.

I dont have to go around saying "I trust Bruce" everytime the rain pours.

Bruce has been here for basically a decade now and he has shifted the expectations drastically upwards. Stop with the "do you know who we are" schtick. We dont have to be reminded where we used to be under Barbee, Lebo, etc everytime Bruce has a misstep or he misses. Nobody is going after Bruce's head. At some point if you want to be a great basketball program you have to think and act like a great basketball program.

Our football team fires coaches for not going toe to toe with Georgia, Bama, and LSU, and now that Bruce has been here our basketball expectations are elevated. We are not resting on 8-4 in football and we are not resting on our laurels in basketball just so some other sec school can come in nd take our players and chances.

Yes, we didnt even think we had a chance with Flory until his commitment was dressed up as a formality to Auburn with a barage of late crystal balls favoring Auburn. Hence a lot of the surprise. This is where I want to throatpunch you "remember who you are!" dudes. That shite is irrelevant and cold water on top of it all.

I dont remember who all called Ace a lock but last year during football season I know for a fact Rivals called him a lock several times. Lock it and throw away the key kind of commitment.

Yeah I agree we don’t have to remember who we are every time we have a hoops disappointment. The only time we need to remember who we are is when some psycho tries to hot seat Bruce or something but I don’t think we are close to there.

I’m kinda in the middle though where I am thrilled to be in the mix cause I know in basketball if you are in the mix and just one player breaks to you, you suddenly are above the mix. Bruce has our rosters within the margins of that year in, year out.

The last couple years if we have Trey Alexander, we probably have another SEC title and a deep tourney run.

Hoping ‘24-‘25 isn’t another year where we say dang if we had Flory instead of “insert Mid-Major solid 5 man” we would have had the best team in the nation
