Would love to know what actual NIL deal dollars are publicly. Recruiting is wild right now.

It would've been monumental getting that second five star. I feel for Bruce- Auburn is still a tough school to recruit for.

I’ll get flamed for saying this but Bruce hasn’t exactly sustained major success at Auburn. We had a chance to really jump into the consistently elite territory but our gaurd play has been subpar for the last few seasons.

Now we have 5 star guards lining up to play and we can’t get any elite high school big men.

It’s frustrating. He’ll have to hope he strikes gold in the portal for the 2024-2025 season if we want to be a serious contender that year.

I have to imagine Bruce is highly disappointed tonight. If Bruce knew then that 10 years at Auburn are in the books and Auburn is still a tough place to recruit I wonder if he would have bounced. I cant imagine he wouldve thought this was going to be that hard. Tennessee stays raking in five stars. He is going toe to toe against Duke and Kansas and its a losing battle. He is getting pretty good classes, not great. He fills holes, but he isnt developing like he wanted to with Bryce Brown's class.

I need Auburnnyc in my ear the most right now.

My issue is that he burned 3 years recruiting this kid as a sole priority. I like that the portal produces established/proven kids. We’ve done well there. But we have been burned far too many times the last 5 years losing to blue bloods as well as GLeague.

From what I’ve gathered our back up plan is “portal”. We have 1 kid and need 4-5.

Getting out of the first weekend of the tournament a few times. From the outside looking in we’re not some elite powerhouse.

I would’ve thought Pearl would have more than one Sweet 16 appearance this deep into his tenure.

When the Bruce to Louisville chatter started a couple of seasons ago we were on top of the basketball world ranked #1. Never in his wildest dreams did he think he’d have this hard of a time recruiting elite classes to Auburn after that.

Alas. . . here we are.

We have a 5 star in every class the past few years. You’ve lost all sense of expectations for Auburn basketball. Sustain this success for another 10 years maybe you can complain about not getting into national championships or getting every 5 star you go after.

Just 10 years ago we should have been satisfied with any player in the top 200.

I wouldn’t mind landing some solid guys that will be here 4 years over a bunch of one and dones. Losing this guy just doesn’t bother me that much. Just get a solid center that will be here more than a year.

Bruce has all but said if any kid is waivering in thoughts of the G league he isn’t gonna spend the time on it. Probably from some that are purely 1 and dones as well. Experience wins championships.

But, we are now at a point where every school in the SEC has the ability to recruit elite kids due to NIL and profit sharing. When Bruce arrived he was special. Now every school (Alabama, Kentucky, Arkansas, Florida, LSU) can bring in 5 stars.

This is that 8-5 Gus loving bullshite that i remember from you.

Bruce has been here a decade dude. We can compete for sec championships in Bruce ball (3x)

We can complain about things without being constantly reminded who we were.

Just a reminder that this class is c/o 2024 and most haven’t even started school yet. Basketball is way different from football. If there’s a high school kid Bruce likes, we can make moves with them much quicker than what you see in football.

If we still have no idea who is going to be our front court next spring/summer then it’s time to panic.

You shooting the wrong arrows bro. Chill it will be alright.

When we don’t live up to expectations then bitch. I trust Bruce to put together a squad good enough to compete for SEC championships. Therefore if things go right in the big dance we have a chance.

There are going to be a lot of small schools that dump NIL into landing basketball players.

And like I said before Bruce is not going to load up the time and effort for kid to hit the G league at the last minute. He will use his money to bring in experienced transfers that fit what he wants. I’m not saying Flory was an NIL guy to Kansas but who’s to say he even suits up for them. We are talking about a kid that wouldn’t even be on campus until fall of ‘25.
