I still have nightmares of Chris Porter coming back the extra year to work on his outside shot
But his outside looks should lessen with guards who can shoot. So hopefully it’s not a ton of wasted possessions

46% from 3 on 143 attempts. That’s impressive no matter what level you’re playing.

He won 6th man of the year at SDSU. Scored 17 in a tourney game.

Chaney Johnson has arrived in auburn and joined the team for workouts.

Hoke reporting that Broome apparently has a couple two way offers on the table. He’s currently weighing the options and we likely won’t know anything until close to the deadline (May 31). Contracts for these deals can range from $80-450k.
So sounds like it will come down to how much NIL he can get and if a team thinks him coming back can improve his stock for the next draft.

I'm not so sure about that. He could take that this year or come back to Auburn, improve his draft stock, and have the potential of making millions the next year. It will be a tough decision for him.

Broome needs to learn that Auburn donors love them some basketball. I need Auburn NIL to see to that.
2 way contracts aren’t special. He can use up his eligibility before he starts the called up; moved down roller coaster

He also needs to decide if he wants to play relevant basketball in front of fans. (It has always bothered me that Harper chose G League over his senior year of college... he would have made that Auburn team national championship good, but Covid would have stolen that from us).

Can't really fault him for starting to make money, it's not like NIL was an option for him. And with Brown and Okeke gone it's not like that team was realistically going to go back to the Final Four from his perspective.
That's the positive here, you would think our NIL groups should match anything the Gleague would offer Broome money wise.

Birmingham has the Pels G League affiliate, so that’s why a game is being played in BHam.

Hokanson reported that the “general feeling” around the program remains that Broome will return, despite yesterday’s news about him gaining some 2 way contract options

Yeah, they did it last year too.
I believe Jared Harper was with the Birmingham Squadron at the time, and played in the preseason game for the Pels. Or maybe that was 2 years ago?

still not as good as my 50% from 3 point land my freshman year of high school. Swish baby! Subtle, not so subtle brag. Yeah, I was 5 foot nothing as a freshman, but man i could play some ball. Fast as lightning. Impossible to guard unless you left me a wide the fk open shot. Couldnt hit those for some reason. Put a hand in my face and i wouldnt miss. Crazy. Wish i was 5 inches taller and darker complected, I may have been on Tv fellas. Alas, I had to settle for being a college football player. Played Center for a d1 school even though i was only 5'8" 150 lbs. Some people may remember

Oddly, that team was 25-6 when the pandemic hit the world... very good chance to go back to the Final Four.

Probably a sweet 16 team…they had a little trouble generating consistent offense at times…Harper would have definitely made them final 4 worthy.

They were pretty bad defensively too. That team ran roughshod over a weak schedule early, but had moments where they could beat anyone.

I remember feeling like they were coming together at the right time and primed for another postseason run, but looking at the schedule doesn't fully reflect that. Idk, I have a shite memory.
We ended that season 3-4 in the last 7, and 3 of those were bad losses. 1 on the road to a top 10 Kentucky, but we also lost at home to a barely over .500 Texas A&M team, and the other 2 were on the road to bad UGA and Mizzou teams
