Auburn has done a great job with the coach search and rehiring of coaches.

From all the bullshite the we heard from the beginning to all the internet trolls and negatigers, the process has been handled well and they are making good choices

Harsin was a good choice. Not necessarily a homerun hire but Auburn will not make many of those due to who they are. Not a blueblood. Harsin is a very good choice and is making some good selections to fill out his staff

Mason, Bobo, Friend are all very good choices and should recruit well. I believe Harsin brought in Larrando in as his confidant. Since it was such a new world here, he needed a guy to lean on that he trusted and felt comfortable with right from the beginning. That was Larrando.

We may not win another game but I believe the process is being done correctly and it will be a positive direction for the program

Nice job so far.

Agreed. I don’t know if it’s just subverted expectations from what was coming out of the rumormill, but I’m very pleased with how things have turned out so far.

I feel like we went from an 8-4 team with Gus to 9-3 team with these new coaches. Good but not crazy elite good. Regardless I will cheer them on for years to come.

The biggest thing we need is consistency. If we can get that, quit getting blown out, and start competing again with UGA it will be a TD hire.

Absolutely

I’m good with it, let’s ride.

I’m not so sure it wasn’t a HR hire and time will tell. It appears Harsin has set some lofty goals and has a very clear idea of what kind of program he wants to build. My hope is he will accomplish it. He looks to be a man on a mission and has a serious nature about him.

You can’t make chicken salad from chicken shite. The name of the game is recruit, recruit, and recruit. (Especially Oline). Mason is a home run hire. CBH is an offensive guy. If we had not heard Steele wanted BoBo this would have been seen as a bigger hire (elite recruiter)

Since the day Pat Dye was hired Auburn has been successful when they recruit the state of Georgia. I think Harsin has that in mind when he hired Bobo and Friend. Time to get back to winning ways. Uga, Clemson, and Bama have really hurt us there

I think it’s been a home run hire/process just based on the fact that I am actually encouraged and excited about our program again. New blood everywhere was needed and that’s exactly what AD Greene has brought.

If you stay within 20miles of I-285 outside of Atlanta you will have the opportunity to pick from more recruits than any other state. It is the most fertile land in CFB....Harsin is no dummy

Well said.

We are in a rebuild mode. I don't think we will see immediate results. The sweet spot should come three or four years down the road. I was thrilled when Harsin was hired and he hasn't done anything to dissuade me from those feelings.

I think we will know more about this hire come spring and the season of course for the on field product but will really know how well the hires were when it comes to signing day next year. If we fill the cubards with 2 and 3 then we know it might be a miss but if we land 4 & 5 with a few projects thrown in then we are back in the race. I like the hard nose aspect and believe 1 v 1 in the practices and scrimmages will help. Don't think the last regime went 1v1 but more 1v2 which hurts your team in my view.

This is key.

If you get blown out , you can’t win.
If you find a way to get it to the fourth quarter, you can make plays or get breaks that can result in victory.

We got blown out many times with Gus.

What was the total of 17 point or more losses from 2013-2020? Answer is 8. Several other 14+ point losses.

Impossible to win IF you get pushed around for 4 quarters.

Better than the last 3 hires. On paper, by far the best hire anyway. Can’t say I’m thrilled about the Bobo hire though.

I don’t think any of the hires are slam dunks.

But overall happy with them

I think Friend is a pretty sub par hire, but frankly our OL can't get much worse anyways. In theory, he should be able to recruit a little better.

Bobo isn't a splash hire, but he is a decent coach and good recruiter. If Harsin likes him, let it ride and see where it goes.

Mason is a slam dunk.

I agree with rebuild mode, but I think we have the talent that has been underutilized that can be as good or better than Gus’ performance without the drop off to 6-6 or worse. The hires he has made will hopefully give us some recruiting power that will pay off this year from Juco/transfer portal and even let us really compete out of the gate.

I am happy with what he has done so far other than maybe Bobo. He seems like he has been a bridesmaid and never a bride, but I also see he may have been limited by his head coaches to this point.

Agree. Not going to put a grade on it. We’ll see what we’ve got in a few years

Ha. No, it needs to get better soon, or it's bordering on fan torture.
