We need a offensive philosophy over haul. The gimmick offense gig is up but we all know Gus is too hard headed to adapt and change and that will be his ultimate down fall.

Can't really blame him. His talent is not being used here.

TRue. I don't think he was even targeted one time Saturday. As far as I can remember, if he is thrown the ball, he always catches it.

Only knock i've heard is he can't separate himself from DBs, but not sure if that is true.

We have a lot of talent. And saturday JS started going to the FR Williams it seems more.

Honestly our offense isn’t really very gimmicky. I agree it needs to be changed some, but the “Mickey Mouse offense” narrative is really inaccurate. If anything we are running a really outdated offense, just out of shotgun.

This. It's the Wing-T out of shotgun basically with Buck Sweep where we pull both guards. Then Power right and Counter Left.

Most of the passing game is off of play action and Chip has fixed most of that but you can still the deep slow developing routes or short game routes. Nothing in between.

No true, Malzahns offense doesn't allow much freedom for WRs.

If you play the Y you run posts and curls if you play the X you run streaks and comebacks etc...

Dbs line up over a position and know you're only running 1 of about 3 routes based on film study

NCM can go deep he can go across the middle he could catch screens etc.. but in Malzahns offense he's placed into a "position" that only runs certain routes.

I was so happy early in that Washington game we were running so many "normal" pass plays with intermediate routes. I thought we had finally learned but I guess not.

What happens if Stidham roles out of the pocket due to pressure? Are receivers allowed to break from their route then?

What i'm saying is you come here as a wr that can do it all but once you're labeled "x" "y" or "z" that's what you do.

Think about every slant we've ran this year has been to Seth Williams or the "X" every screen to the "y" every streak to the "z" (slayton). With the exception of sneaking in Will Hastins.

It's just predictable and bush league. I also more than likely have those position letters flip flopped. Point stands.

Remember that awesome year where we had Kyle Davis and NCM as commits? Those were the days.

Was he a legit bad egg attitude-wise???

I've tried to stay optimistic but this feels like it f*ckin sucks and we underutilized the hell out of him.
