especially if those fans are the main cash cow of the Football program.

I think once we get past the Alabama game, the focus will be clearer if Gus is really on the hot seat.

The only thing that could muddle whether he stays or goes, is if he goes 1 and 1 against GA and Bama.
If the one win is Alabama, he definitely stays.
If the one win is GA, he probably has a chance to hold on to the job.

If he goes 0-2, I feel that the money people will finally find enough to let him go.

So much of it is how we play.

If we lose close to UGA and Bama, but we actually look like a legitimate team, he probably stays.

One of the biggest problems with Malzahn is we have so many games where we look like we have no idea what we are doing.

I'm going to the fire him camp if we can't win one of these games.

I'm firmly in the he needs to go camp, it is only a matter of when. More than likely, with what the price tag is, if we look like a legit team in both of those games, aka defense keeps playing like they are and the offense actually looks like it has a plan as to what it is doing, Gus will probably stay for another year.

I guess teaching a QB to not fumble during an RPO is tough to teach.

You can do anything with stats if you choose to. Were 7-2 with one of the top five hardest schedules in the country with our two losses being against top 10 teams on the road.

We're 7-2 because we beat all the shitty teams on our schedule that we should have and lost to the 2 teams that really mattered, and LSU and Florida were completely winnable games. Period.

Saying we're 7-2 at this point isn't a success. Auburn had a chance to make the playoffs this year. We have one of the best defenses, if not the best, in the country.

All it took was a little offense. Gus failed horribly. And if you, as a coach, allowed offensive recruiting to get as bad as he has, you should be fired.

Gus says himself, it starts with the oline. Then why has his oline recruiting been shite for 4 years?

That's either stupid or incompetent of him. You want to find the reason for our offensive woes? Look straight at Malzahn. It's all on him.

Gus has made millions upon millions of dollars coaching Auburn football. I have no sweet spot or sympathy for him.

That was a good win. Okay, he's 1-2 in games that mattered then.

We pulled that game out of our arse too.

And is Oregon really good? The highest ranked team they've played since us was #25 Washington who is now 5-4 (Oregon won by 4 points). Every other team they've played is unranked.

So Minnesota must be damn good too?

They've beaten a lot of unranked teams too.

Which is why I think Cristobal should be a coaching target to replace Gus. Check out the staff he has put together. Many are tied to the pac 10. So i think if he came here he would try to keep our D staff and perhaps Caddy.

The only reason they are #7 is because of their terrible schedule

They lost to the only competition they played.

This was talked about all day before the game. A must win for Oregon because of their schedule.

Not rocket science.

Same thing, two years in a row. "Biggest game all year for Oregon/Washington".
We beat both of them and later in the year, they get consideration because they play a shite schedule and we end up losing games to higher ranked teams.

There is no way you can convince me that Oregon should be ranked ahead of Auburn right now. No way you can make me believe that

I think we are 2-2 in games that matter, wins vs. Oregon and at TAMU.

Agreed. TAMU's shine from preseason is gone but they are still solid and it was a road game. I wouldn't be shocked if they were able to knock off one of LSU or Georgia down the stretch.

Isn't that the current MO w/ Gus? Keep the most important games close?

Now, if it IS close and everybody knows he will say we did this w/ a True Freshman at QB, then that might get him a life line.

I think we should keep him. Get a giant tent, hire a bunch of clowns, get some live animals, tigers and what not, snatch the visor off his head, hand him a top hat, and make him the ringleader of that circus.

It's really the job he was born to do.
