I think we can agree that this team greatly underperformed last year given the talent. Poor coaching was definitely an issue but I think some players were lazy or at least unmotivated due to NIL. The money bought layers but not effort or focus.
Can't figure out if Chaplin regressed or if bad OL coaching was at fault. I tend to think it’s mostly the latter
Well this ruined Christmas for me. I understand he wants to start but AU can’t risk a season with an i experienced sophomore qb in a new system. Im sure the coaches intended to bring him along to start the following season. This was more on old staff that had him sitting and not developing
He is worth it esp for 1 yr. Total shut down corner. Are we on ozempic nil? This is first portal entry I’m really upset about. He is one of the best players on team. Easily top 5 or top 3

He may have felt bad for OM program given the Kiffen debacle. Oh well. Let’s retain players and go strong into the portal
Doesn’t mean we will bring him back. He’s getting old and we have Vontrel

Nope. I understand Sumrall and agent started to slow walk AU when UF got involved. Cohen did not force Durkin on anyone. Sumrall got cold feet. Screw him. I prefer Golesh
I always preferred an offensive HC too. I like the hire. Clean house on O side staff for sure.
If true I give Sumrall the middle finger. AU is a better destination than UF right now and if his ties to AU don’t matter to him than go f yourself. Hope we beat the crap out of UF next year.
Still need to have vg qb in this recruiting class. Payton flirting w Syracuse
Disappointed that this is the list. We almost had Kiffen 3 yrs ago and now this ia all we can muster.
To be fair all the QBs looked bad under Freeze. I expect and hope he will look good with new OC

I prefer Key assuming he brings the OC and staff and retains Durkin
Just got an instagram feed saying UF plane was in Atlanta suggesting Key was interviewing. Hope Cohen has reached out.
Lane + Durkin is unbeatable combination. I know that perhaps it’s not going to happen but we had him 3 yrs ago. Today we have a top roster, great NIL and front office, and total alignment. We have everything Lane would want so hope we are trying again. Of course secure the contract this time asap. Roster would be retained and we will have great qb and offensive play.
Wondering how much of the recruiting and roster management success were related to the front office and recruiting infrastructure outside of HF. I don’t know just wondering because of his laziness in performing HC and OC responsibilities along with lack of intensity.
Zac has some annoying habits such as his facial expressions and nervous tics which make him hard to watch. When I listen to him he often doesn’t know things that I know and I’m no insider. I don’t think he has any sources beyond other AU reporters. The locked on lsu guy is the best. Knowledgeable and in the know.
As much as I love Durkin, if we hesitate to make him HC because of past, what other school would? Durkin may stay to coach under an offensive coach like Brohm who is also an established 55 yr old HC. Probably won’t stay to work under a “kid” like Dilly. Brohm with Durkin would be amazing.
