It seems that LeBron has no problem with bringing politics to a basketball game.

You obviously do not understand the ways of the world today. Just because someone else does something doesn't mean you have the right to do it as well. Haven't you learned that by now?

You say that like I'm suppose to be offended?

Instead of proudly knowing you'll likely never do half the shite I've done. Because mamma probably wouldn't let you out of her sight and daddy another step this side of such a prohibitive mother. It's like how boomers are half the men their daddy's were. You know those guys who won the wars which allowed us to get softer and softer.

And if I'm wrong about you, that's ok, because internet banter doesn't have to be true or taken serious. Nor everyone have the same opinion. As if I even knew LeBron sat (or stood up) for his beliefs.

Ok, junior.

You miss read. I was slapping the UNO reverse.

Proud Gen X latch key kid here, and I've done cooler shite this week than most of the folks on here have done in their lives, but don't need to pull out the ruler.

Next month, even cooler shite on the horizon.

I think the entire generational name calling is stupid, especially if you call someone a boomer as a mind set.

Muhammad Ali, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Dennis Rodman, Jesse Owens, Jim Brown just to mention a few we “Boomers” have watched go against the flow.
LJ sitting is light weight!

Everything's fine... wasn't really going after anyone... and more about our fascination with slapping a label on everything.

Mostly comical that we act as if sports exist in a vacuum where stats are equal; regardless of number games in a season, how many steps in a double drip, the three point line, and then it's shortening. To me arguing the best is asinine because even the best can be beat any single day and they'll only remain that way for a limited time.

This is the shite we need to be talking about in the IM thread

Weigh the cost. He’s not unpopular among the demographic that, you know, we’re trying to get to come play here.

You think.

Yet it doesn't stop dimwitted tweets to recruits and family.

I’ll cop to tweeting to players for only 2 reasons. Encouragement or thanking them for their time and effort as they leave, whether that be via transfer, going pro, or graduation.

Beyond that I know not to be a creepy fricking lunatic lol.

And I ain’t booing Lebron because I could give 2 shits about his politics, and even if I did the demographic we need to win generally likes him.

Protected speech yes, protected from receiving criticism no. Booing is part of free speech too

Only lunatics conflate “because you can” with “because you should.”

Only a POS chooses to disrespect a country where a hood rat can make millions of dollars playing sports and be treated like a hero instead of what he actually is.

You and about 38 other fans would be booing him alone. The losers in the situation would be the 39 booing fans

What a tired arse, reactionary take.

If burning a flag is protected speech (as SCOTUS has confirmed), then certainly sitting during the anthem is as well.

You might not like it, but if you believe in the principals you're ostensibly "upholding" then you need to be logically consistent.

You might not like his take, but this activity is protected by 1A.

Criticism is just that, criticism.

You might not like it, but if you believe in the principals you're ostensibly "upholding" then you need to be logically consistent.

It would probably be a bigger/better response to ignore him. Don't acknowledge him as anything other than an opposing player's dad. Don't put him on the Jumbotron. Don't cheer or boo him. Just ignore him. Won't happen, but I would love it.

Add Bill Russell to that list. And if you really want to get crazy start adding white sports icons like Branch Rickey, Peter Norman, etc!

Please let these fragile snowflakes sit down somewhere and don't frick this great recruiting event up for us!
