JJ Pegues must be the beast on the DL we all thought he would be for Handy to pack it in

Considering that they play 2 different positions I would assume one has nothing to do with the other. Handy was playing OLB and slimmed down to 242.

I talk with Handy fairly often and he has never given any indication about not being happy. (no I am not an inside source to the man or close friend or family, but we have chatted for 2 years on FB)

I asked him after A-day if everything was straight and he said yes, that he was putting in work to excel this fall and went on to say how much he loved the new scheme. I am SHOCKED.

Maybe it wasn’t a big deal to coach Harsin and stuff that happens and usually can work through. With the transfer portal available it’s going to change things and allow kids to bypass working through issues.

Based on how sensitive you are I am guessing you would opt for the transfer portal as well.

Just to play devils advocate.. The opposite take of this is being fine riding the bench. I'll take a guy that believes in himself over someone who's just happy to be there 10 times out of 10.

He struck me as a 'tweener in a 3-4. Maybe not athletic enough to stand up and play LB, but maybe too small - or not willing - to bulk up and play the 5-technique.

Who knows. This happens every year. There doesn't have to be anyting nefarious about it. Not many/none of these players ever goes on to huge success anywhere else.

I really wondered as well. He was listed at 6 foot 5 and 278 when he signed. He showed up at 257, then comes in last season at 240 and a bit. Its a shame, I wish him luck.

Hall and Moultry will get most snaps, Romello needs to hit the weight room but is listed there as well.

This is the exact quote.. "so don’t make it any bigger than it is. They just weren’t out there today for different reasons."

Personally, I'm waiting for metafore to contribute. I need a novella before I turn in for bed tonight. I'm just busting balls... as a Utahn I apprectate someone more knowledgable and connected than me to comment on the disfunctional AU football program past and present. 15-0, Natty. Book it!

You can twist it anyway you want to. He made it seem like they missed A day for something minor when he knew it wasn't true.

Glad you hate all those words in a press conference. This season will be worse than 2012.

Dye wasn't forthcoming in press conferences. Not Bowden, Tubs, Chiz, Gus or the new guy. I don't understand what point you're trying to make. If you'd like to make a construct valid argument I'm all ears. If its that Harsin withheld information from the press, well I'm sure you see the absurdity.

It wasn’t true? What major thing caused him to miss A-day? For someone that is criticizing people for jumping to conclusions, you sure do seem to be doing it a lot.

Maybe he was on the fence about it and truly didn’t know. So Harsin let him sit out the game and let him make up his mind what he wants to do. From Harsin and anybody reasonable, that wouldn’t be anything major and we shouldn’t read much into it. It’s a kid deciding what he wants to do, and until he does, we get reps for other people. Maybe just maybe all parties handled this like adults and you’re getting your panties in a wad over nothing.

He probably wasn’t talking about Handy in particular. He was probably talking about the large number of players that missed. As in don’t read into that.

Amazing how this has lasted 2 full pages. The dude is gone. Doesn’t matter anymore. Who the frick cares?

Also, whoever made the comment about the transfer portal robbing the player/coach working out a solution is right. All this does now is allow a person to quit all too quickly before trying to find a solution and better yourself and the team.

Obviously, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t but giving the the opportunity to quit that fast is not a great option overall. I think it instills a mindset to quit easily when you don’t have shite go your way.

I cant think of too many cases where it worked. I believe the old grad transfer worked better. Look at Coynis Miller former 4 star that left thinking he was going to be picked up by a big program and ended up at FCS Jackson State

Nothing to see here. Everything is sunshine and rainbows. Not like we need to stop the run anyway.
