I want to know how this guy went from playing as a true freshman for coach G, but now isn't good enough for these new coaches.
He played in 2-3 games.

(Edit) I thought you were referring to Hardy, but I don't recall Handy playing significantly more.

Thats usually how it goes when you're a young guy and you have upperclassman ahead of you starting. You get more PT every year until eventually you work your way into being a starter or major contributor. I mean isn't this staff supposed to be great at developing players? Would have been since to see them develop one the the top DL of his class over the next couple of years.

For anyone wondering, as far as I know, this doesn't open up more room for transfers this year. We still only have room for 3 more players.

Maybe he had some Bryon Cowart in him and didnt not want to listen to the coaches and put in the work? Not sure what the issue is but if he doesnt want to be here let him go.

Jt33:

This is very normal after coaching changes.
(1.) Harsin may be trying to clean house, or (2) the players don’t want to play for coaches that didn’t recruit them.

You can expect these kinds of things in year one.

Quick attrition after spring practice on any team is normal as well. That’s just when it makes sense for a lot of players to transfer.

This was from an April 29th subscription article from ThE Athletic. It's Harsin being quoted. Gee, who do you think he was referring to lol?

“We’re at the stage now where, right now, I’d say it’s probably 50-50. Some guys have figured it all out, and some are still just trying to show up on time. That’s why this is about every day. We can do something well for two or three days and we can absolutely have a disaster — five, six guys just don’t show up. Don’t show up. Where is your culture? Is it still solid or has it gone backwards? The culture piece is about expectations and behaviors. … To do that day-in and and day-out is the consistency piece. Are you disciplined enough to do that? Are you tough enough to do that? Do you believe in what we’re doing?”

Plaric, please include Jay Hardy in the title if you read this. Thanks.

I'm aware of those things. We need help on the DL, they already weren't great last year and we're even thinner there now. Hardy and Handy are both still young guys, maybe they do need to become more focused.. so coach them up.

It sucks now but if they weren’t good fits or total cancers, I’d rather them be canned sooner than later anyway.

That’s putting it nicely. The HS kid from Texas probably already beat him out. But again, baggage.

looks like he was at the bottom of the depth chart even behind walk-ons. Good luck to him.

If I'm Garnett I try to get Hugh Freeze on the phone. Freeze helped take Malik's game to the next level.. He needs a QB after this year and Garnett can def play on that level.

Expendable with Davis on the roster. Not sure I saw enough from at Auburn or HS to really know what kind of prospect he is. He basically never threw the ball his senior season.

Best of luck to him.

I have no idea why AU signed this kid. His numbers were atrocious.

Never said he was. Just saying Freeze has a QB friendly system, will need a QB next year, its a lower level, and he already has/had a small connection to Auburn so he might already know who Garnett is.
