I know people don't want to hear it, but that's not us. Not anymore. Not since the expansion.

I don’t know if it’s the school itself, or our reputation for meddling boosters and the PTB. Remember Jetgate? Whatever they tried to pin on Harsin to get rid of him?

Until we give a Coach Saban like control, and keep everyone else out, I don’t see us getting over the hump like we want.

Think that's a product of the crappy coaches we have had here recently. The support for the program and resources available are there.

You dont think Penn State doesnt have the resources and support that Auburn has? Come on man. Get out of the blue/orange rainbow

They do. They came back from unheard of alligations and issues with previous coaches and are better and bigger than auburn is currently.

I think it was more of a terrible athletic department at the time. They announced there was an internal investigation (or at least let it out). Twitter was to blame for starting marital issues. But the athletic department did nothing to stop the rumors.

And the investigation was because of mass exodus of players and staff, and I believe mainly stemmed from Derek Mason.

That would take someone like Franklin or Kiffin who would tell the PTB to frick off.

We aren't going to hire anyone like that. It will be a yes man like Dilly or Rhett that will schmooze the brass

I agree, and that why we’ll never realize our true potential…

Dude has it rolling at ASU for now. Doubt he will be back here nor do I think Lashley will leave SMU.

well, seems like the majority want to blow it up, destroy our roster, and hire a new coach

I just don't see the point in trying to save a roster that is likely to see a lot of defections anyway and which will be squandered on the same ineffective leader (and with a harder schedule).

Sounds good, doesn't work. Do you think uga, TN, Florida, bama, etc. will hold them to this? No and they will just go play elsewhere. Unless this is mandated from some supreme entity, it absolutely won't work. Its a quick path to an Alabama St quality roster.

who would want to come & work for Hugh that will run HIS offense?
We had that already and he fired them post year 1 & took over calling plays

So if we are a racing team and put everything into our car & systems but we kept the same driver that doesn't know how to keep up. You think that works out well? Sorry have to get rid of the driver.

Freeze needs to go period. I don't think Cohen will keep him but could be way off.

I find it unbelievable that we have fans who think like this! Freeze needed to be fired weeks ago. The wheels have fallen off! No need to wait for that to happen because it has already happened! Cohen is a coward and should be fired too if he doesn’t fire Freezus this season at some point.

No SEC school wants ROI wasted on the departed . I could see a coalition form.

Great way to limit the 4x transfer

“Find a coach and give him total control no meddling boosters.”

This is a tactic of the past and just won’t work anymore. When Saban took over at Bama and Smart at UGA the program didn’t need booster money to buy players. It was helpful but not needed. Now teams need 20 million dollars every year to assemble the roster and that money seems to be coming from just a handful of people.

A organization can’t ask a handful of people to donate 20 million every single year and not let them give input on the team. Going forward a coach is going to have work with the boosters and maybe convince the boosters what is needed and what can be put off until later but a coach cant walk into a booster meeting and tell them how it’s going to be then ask them to donate 20 million a year to fill out the roster.

I would have fired him after the UGa game, I'm just trying to figure out reasons to keep him since I'm sure that's what our non serious admin will do

What makes LSU a better job than ours?

I dont agree with keeping Freeze but LSU is a top 5 job in the country. We can be honest.

Unless Bama, UGA, OSU, or Oregon open up, LSU is far and away the best job opening.

It's a lot more difficult to know now in the nil era. Before location was a much bigger factor but now money comes into play as well and it's hard to know for sure who has what. Texas tech prob went from a top 40 job to a top 10 job in this new era

If LSU is a top 5 job, then Auburn is top 6.

Better hope the rest of the P4 also does this or the whole conference will be on equal footing with the All American Conference.

In the last 25 years LSU has 13 10+ win seasons to our 5 I think. They have a state to themselves.

LSU isn't rich (compared to other top 5 jobs or top 15 programs), but it's considered easy to win at.

I think LSU is a better current job than UF, but UF has considerably more upside. I think LSU is a better job than Auburn, but Auburn has comparable upside to LSU.

If Auburn were to go on a decade run of competitive stability (with or without titles) - it would be pretty much on par with LSU in terms of HC job, I think.
