Yeah that's my hope. I honestly believe that he is genuine and his "process" can definitely win with his vision for the program.

I guess, imo, it seems easier to motivate a group of guys at USF that were "passed over" by the bigger programs. Seems like those kids "buy in" because they feel they have something to prove. Is the 5* guy who has been King shite in HS and is getting paid $2 million gonna actually buy in and pull in the same direction as everyone else? I know that's a generalization and not every elite player is like that.

I have heard and read really good things about his recruiting and process. I really want this to work out and see that Auburn got it right this time. I believe in him and his vision for the program so im ready to ride. Its gonna be a long offseason waiting for him to coach his first game I wish he could magically install his system and watch this current roster play in it tomorrow.

Just saw Xavier Atkins in staying at Auburn.

Hell yeah!

Atkins is exactly the type of guy that will thrive in the new culture. Hopefully he will be one of the guys to help install the new culture from the player side of things.

Positive. Like what he did at USF. Like what he's saying so far at Auburn. Like offensive coaches in general.

With all that said, there are NO sure things, not even Kiffin at LSU (though that one should work). Then again, I still think Brother Hugh should have worked at Auburn. Hopefully, Comrade Alex does (MUCH) better. I think he will.

There is also a difference in being a hard ads and being a prick. Harsin was a prick.

Right, Harsin's problem was he was a stubborn prick. he thought he could just sit in his office and everybody would flock to him but that's not how it works.

He said “We are going to frickin run the football” and “we are going to be the most violent team on the football field.” I like it! Now gotta go out and back it up.

I just did a deep dive into his career. If we can keep our highly touted players, and fix the OL, our opponents are going to have the hands full. I foresee a massive culture change......FOR THE BETTER!

I like his ability to turn failed programs around in short order. USF won one game the year before he came in. He went 9-3 in 2025. Seems he makes a habit of that where ever he's been.

Great find.

I think Golesh will put together a very strong offense, perhaps an elite one. I know that Durkin can field an elite defense even if there was no real offense in support.

I hate that phrase. Every single coach ever says that when they take a new job. "I have to change the culture". Bla bla bla.

But for once, I believe it fits. We dont have a winning culture. When Gus was here, we won close games. We just did. Since he left, we basically have lost every close game we have been in. Its like we dont know how to win

Golesh has to change that. We have to start believing that we can win again. And we will

Yep. We're going to lose some mentally soft players but I believe most want to be coached hard. Durkin alluded to that as well.

Best hire since Gus. I was/am actually excited about this hire. Wasn't in the slightest about Harsin. And when we hired Freezus I was like "this is the best we can do?"

With Golesh I feel optimistic and excited. He will move the program forward...as opposed to backwards like the last 5 years. There is NO reason AU shouldn't be a premier program/contender. We will get there with Golesh. I am confident of that.

High scoring offense and a team full of players waking up every morning choosing violence.

When you’ve had more new coach press conferences than bowl games over the same period of time you know it’s bad. I’m so beaten down as a fan, I don’t even know what constitutes a great coaching hire anymore. Who knows if this guy is going to be any good or not. Just gonna cross my fingers and hope for the best.

Feel pretty good. Dilly and Brohm weren't coming, and outside of Lane who was available and better? I wouldn't want the circus of Lane flirting with jobs every 2 years.

Did anyone see Bill Cowher destroy Lane? He warned any Ole Miss player against following Lane. That those kids worked with Lane for 4 years towards the goal of winning a Championship and he bailed on them. Basically said Lane doesn't care about anyone but Lane. Not his players, not his coaches, nobody. If the NIL money is equal, Lane could very easily be negatively recruited against

ask and ye shall receive:

38 yay - 36 boo

seem to recall it was about 100-25 in favor of hiring Kiff, when that was still a possibility

I think he has a decent aptitude and personality. I am tired of offensive guys that run a system. I wanted a defensive minded coach that would bring in different OCs every 2-3 years.

His veer and shoot isn't as bad as Freeze's RPO everything but we're going to go through all of the same things as we did with Gus re: the NFL and recruiting.

Just tired of this approach. Coaching hires are a crapshoot, even more so for a G5 coach, so he could be good. I'm wait and see.

thought you were gonna be our lone DV

now i wonder who it is

but i have to say, I’m pleasantly surprised at the near universal lack of discontent with this hire

i would imagine a DJ thread would have been 70-30 against

True but most homerun hires are from the outfield. P4 coaches that are on the market are there for a reason and chasing big names that aren't only gives them a better contract with their current school.
