Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animals!
quote:

Just a question to throw out there, who would you rather have?

Malcolm Simmons- 25 catches, 457 yards, 2 TDs

-or-

Keshaun Singleton- 50 catches, 877 yards, 8 TDs

And what about if Singleton was less than Simmons cost?

I want to say i would take Singleton hands down, the only unknown here is what could Simmons do with a better qb, and oline blocking for the better qb in Golesh's offense?
Not seeing anything on X mention this at all. not saying it's not true, but people can't help posting stuff all over X and i don't see anything at all.

ETA*** - The only thing i've really seen so far after looking more is this:

Phillip Marshall commented and said he hasn't been hearing that at all and that he didn't buy it, but this SHANKS guy keeps insisting this is what he's hearing.

If true (major IF), then I think he should just leave. would likely be a cancer to the team. if he's wanting the starting spot just handed to him wherever, good luck with that unless it's a smaller school.
I wouldn't report anyone unless it was for something super serious. and it's not necessarily about engaging with those who irritate or bore you. i like to read through threads and it's just much more productive to not have to read some peoples comments or even see them at all.

Ok, I can kinda see this argument about "losing a year of eligibility" after the first transfer, but you still have to have an NIL penalty regardless of that, otherwise they still come in, get paid, then transfer out with no repercussions after the first year. that just can't be a thing, ever.

Right. so people posting how much UF is paying their coaches is just a flex that doesn't mean shite.

Does it really matter what we pay our assistants in the grand scheme of things? I mean, yes, it matters to an extent, but I would assume what we pay is determined by what/who the HC needs. Golesh doesn't need a rock star OC or NFL assistants, he needs people that are familiar with his system, which is pretty much what he got on the offensive side. those guys are moving up from lower level jobs where they probably got paid a lot less and are getting a huge bump in salary with the move up.

on the flip side, the defense, we do have a rock star DC with some pretty good assistants that are mostly sticking around with the job they had, some probably getting raises, others may stay the same. I mean if you're trying to hire Nick Saban as DC, Lane Kiffin as OC, and then a bunch of other big time assistants just to have name recognition, you're gonna pay out the arse. it's just all dependent on what you need imo. just because you pay your staff several million more than someone else doesn't mean you're gonna get the same or better production.

I don't mind NIL, I think the players deserve more than just a scholarship. a degree isn't even guaranteed to get you a job in todays job market. NIL on the other hand if invested correctly, can set up a player to do things they might normally not have the funds to do otherwise. the problem is that there need to be contracts tied to NIL locking a player into a school for a certain amount of time and have penalties for leaving, so that they don't just stick around a year, get paid, and bail in the portal. it's the combination of no contract NLI and no real rules for the portal that's the problem. I can't stand UGA, but hopefully they win this to set a precedent going forward.

Just saw this post from Nathan King. I guess I missed that the new rule had been revised. I was still under the impression that the transfer portal was about to open up for our players in the next few days, but it won't.
Right, Harsin's problem was he was a stubborn prick. he thought he could just sit in his office and everybody would flock to him but that's not how it works.
"I've always been told that if you're a good golfer you can't be a good football coach." - Alex Golesh

Ouch! Shots Fired!
quote:

For the love of God get a decent o line coach.

This has to be one of the major upgrades we make. it's what's been killing us for years now and has to change.

Halzle is supposedly the QB/OC at Tenn, so QB coach would be taken care of if that's true, unless Golesh just wants to bring in a dedicated QB coach.

To me, the most important hires on Offense are OC, OL Coach and QB Coach.
lol, this video is such bs. this is the same shite that's been talked about ad nauseam for the past couple days. if this is the so called "story that will blow you mind", then it's nothing that wasn't already out there and he said that Durkin was going to be named HC today as if he knew for certain that it was a done deal.
Spoiler alert, he doesn't. he sounds just like any other normal American.
