A few years ago, I read that Ireland would be the first to fall, meaning a minority in their own country. If I remember right they were projecting by 2050 but it is looking like it will be sooner than that.
Lebanon was a tourist resort until the Muslims became a majority and started waring on Christians.

ZIM is a shipping company that is a wild ride. Got a fat $6 per share on a $20 stock last year, then $0, then back to >$3.

Growth is artificially down because there was a 41% increase in imports (causing a 5% dip in GDP) because big companies were stocking up for the trade war. Next quarter will most likely have a massive artificial bump because of less imports coming in.
A lot of the job growth was useless government jobs that produced nothing but more debt. That's being trimmed also. It has to be lest we end up with the budget going to little more than debt service.

Many of the jobs created in Biden's time were government jobs that did nothing of value or worse.

Conservatives, ahead by 25 points, were demanding an election. Trudeau announced he'd resign in early January.

A Conservative Canadian government was on the way. Until it wasn't. Around that same time period, US President-elect Donald Trump started trolling Canada about annexing its territory and making it America's 51st state. Within days of taking office, as previewed literally on day one, Trump imposed punitive tariffs against our northern neighbors (these were briefly paused, then reimposed).
While it was funny when Trump was trolling Fidel Trudeau, it was also an insult that touched on a raw nerve for most Canadians. They are a little sensitive to their little brother status to start with.

Those are not NYC grade. There are three types of places that offer Asian massage.
1) Places that only pretend to do massage, but do everything else.
2) Places that do real massage with a happy ending.
3) Places that only do a real massage. They still get arrested for not having a license.

All of the facts lead to a conflict driven by the desire by a group of people to control another group for money and power.
The North got fat and rich on the tariffs that made the South a captive market. Politics melded with greed on that score.
In the South, the tariffs caused a decade long economic depression that travelers noted caused notable decay. The idea of the tariffs was that the South would trade with the North, but that didn't work out since the North preferred wool to cotton and was generally agriculturally self-sufficient. However, it did reduce Southern trade income massively.
To add insult to injury, 5 out of 6 dollars raised by tariffs went to improvements in the North.

I'm just glad we have all this diversity. Having dozens of little ethnic and religious subgroups who hate each other and want to kill each other makes us stronger.
Some assimilate quickly and others not at all. Secular Jews assimilate rather well in Judeo-Christian culture.
Asians do too. Saw three young couples in Manhattan yesterday. Nice looking American guy and a very pretty Asian women. It's quite the thing.
I should know, my wife of 20 years is Korean. I'm like the second father to our nephew since his father died when he was very young. He became a big Auburn fan and is now at Auburn.

The author asserts that people are dying because the US supported Ukraine and prevented a Russian takeover. But the real reason people are dying is because Putin wants to revive the Soviet Union.
Putin said that Communism couldn't be made to work no matter how hard they tried. However, he also fashions himself in the image of Peter the Great and wants to restore the Russian Empire sans communism.

Build more power plants south of the Canadian border, and that trade deficit goes away. That's an anthill that didn't need to be kicked over.
quote:
The U.S.-Canada trade balance reflects a complex economic relationship, with significant trade flows in goods and services. In 2024, the U.S. ran a goods trade deficit with Canada of $63.3 billion, down 1.4% from 2023, according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. U.S. goods exports to Canada totaled $349.4 billion, while imports from Canada were $412.7 billion. However, when excluding energy exports (primarily oil and gas, which account for ~27% of Canada’s exports to the U.S.), the U.S. maintains a trade surplus of approximately $63 billion.

We should never allow immigrants in who are incompatible with Western culture. If they won't readily assimilate, keep them out.

We executed the exit in spectacularly poor fashion but we needed to leave and Trump did strike a deal with the Taliban. Biden was carrying out Trump policy. The execution was just awful.
Trump's policy was working as intended. Biden bugged out in the middle of the night during Taliban fighting season. The Afghan base commander at Bagram didn't find out until he showed up for work and found American's gone. How dumb is that!
